Late game only got 375K I would estimate that Nationally that would be about 600K.
Once again NRL would average about 900K nationally for the 4 hour broadcast with as much advertising as 1 friday night AFL game. With Fox numbers the AFL average for this game would be about 1.2 million
1 AFL game >>> 2 NRL games
500K rural in the first match would be worth as much to the networks as Adelaide + Perths 250K.

AFL 726k +250k regionals if you are lucky = 976k
NRL Smashed you guys this week. :D Go parra

Both codes would have got ratings in the 1.3m range after regionals and payTV. NRL homeland states advertising is valued at 20% more, so if the AFLs network charge say 200k per 10minutes of ads the NRLs network get 240k.But the fact is an AFL game has 2.5 more advertisement time, and a larger proportion of an AFL games ratings are to metro audiences which is more valuable by almost 50%. Therefore if the NRl game had 20 minutes of ads they earn ch9 4.8m. Ch7 then get 50 minutes of ads worth at least 10m.

720K + 500K = 1.32??? keep working that maths. (both the AFL and NRL (first broadcast) would have rated about 1.2 million). The second game would have rated about 600K. 1200K + 600K divided by 2 = 900K average.

Yeah honest mistake 1.22million
Like i said piesman you keep forgetting the second game is not live or maybe your just ignoring this because it hurts you to acknowledge this. keep guessing what the ratings would have been but when you compare apples with apples NRL is beating AFL on friday night FTA with ease. =D>
Once the NRL work in Better coverage for the TV Deal you are gonskies and you know it. :D

Yet you keep forgetting the AFL is delayed into Adelaide and Perth it's only a single game which is usually only targeted to one market. Where as the NRl is live to its entire heartland and almost always targeted to each market.
The NRl were winning the 5 city ratings most often last year. Have they won one yet this year? This is despite the AFL being simulcast on fox!

Technically both NRL games are live to one market. The same as the AFL friday night game. You dont mean the NRL game you mean the broadcast. I have acknowledged this a few times.
eelofwest wrote: keep guessing what the ratings would have been but when you compare apples with apples NRL is beating AFL on friday night FTA with ease.
As for apples V apples I am happy to compare a broadcast (two different games's best ratings from two different markets) to a AFL game if you want I think that with Foxel we generally come out in front. However if we were really comparing apples to apples we would be comparing two games. The reason for this is that both the AFL game and both of the NRL games are boradcast live to one market. The other markets are delayed. Like I have mentioned a few times, the NRL game (both games) average about 850-900K (not the broadcast). The AFL friday night game with FTA ratings only (why this is important to you I dont know. AFL makes more money from the foxtel deal anyway) has beaten this every game except maybe the Carlton V Brisbane one. (5 out of 6)
eelofwest wrote: Once the NRL work in Better coverage for the TV Deal you are gonskies and you know it. :D
I believe that once this happens, if you simulcast the friday night game, your friday night game FTA (important to you) ratings will go down by at least 1/3. Your overall ratings will stay the same or maybe improve to similar ratings to the AFL this year with one more live FTA game.
When are you going to acknowledge that the AFL friday night game is out rating the 1st (live) NRL broadcast, not to mention holding much better ratings overall on Friday night across FTA and PTV. The AFL ratings nationally this year have been reported to be up by 25%. Last year the NRL had maybe a 10% buffer and that included SOO and rep games (they also had about 10 more games in total)

Totally agree piesman. nRL fans are assuming that they will get similar ratings increases by showing Friday night games on FTA and payTV. What they fail to realize is that the AFL ratings have increase overall because for the first time the games are live (or not 3 hours delayed for Perth), plus they are shown beteen 7.30 and 10.30, not finishing at 11.30 with the second half starting near 10pm.
The NRL is already live and shown at 7.30pm on Friday nights. So where are these extra fans going to come from?
So showing Friday night NRL games on FTA and payTV will result in a reduction in ratings for channel 9. Why would they pay extra for this?

According to your own website its live in adelaide. The reason its delayed in Perth is so that viewers can see it at prime time.
You've had 6 rounds, counting last night weve won the Friday night timeslot in 3. I do expect league to increase fom here.

Every FN AFL game has won the FTA metro ratings this year without foxtel!
The NRLs 2 live and targetted games were winning most of these last year. This year the AFL have won all of them despite being shown on foxtel as well. =D>

Perth, dying for a RL team!

When Perth is shown at at a descent time ,and not 4 or 5 in the afternoon, then its not all that far behind Sydney. Where the AFL have a team for almost 30 years..

So do you want to show RL in Perth live or on delay but in primetime?
This time zone issue is the problem the AFL have faced for years. Yet Perth is almost as big as Brisbane. Imagine your ratings if Brisbane got delayed RL every week?

yet the fans there want to see it live not on delay. But showing it live means the game is shown at 5.30, not primetime.
Oh and don't try to tell me RL in Perth gets near AFL levels in Sydney. The swans rate 40-80k despite being simulcast on foxtel. RL in Perth is rating 3-16k, and probably averaging less than 10k.
