Of course they will be interested! because while ch 7 are getting great figures for the AFL foxtel are also! Where as with the NRL it's one or the other! Ch9 do well but foxtel get nothing, or visa versa.

While the AFL is dominating the FTA ratings fox footy is dominating payTV.

While ch7 make megabucks from advertising during AFL games on FTA they are also making money from the same ads being shown on foxtel!

Was just thinking it would be interesting to tally up all the AFL and NRL programs on FTA and Pay TV.

Looking at the tv ratings each week it seems clear the AFL dominates on FTA (The AFL Footy Show, Before the Game, AFL Game Day, Footy Classified etc) and Pay (AFL 360, On the Couch etc, etc). No doubt explains why Fox Footy is continually the No.1 Pay TV station each and every week. Food for thought.

Good point beaus. The AFL seem to have more shows , better quality shows and higher ratings. While not necessarily adding to the tv rights value they sure indicate the more popular product overall.

VFL.... whopped like biatches .......

Interestingly the only FTA RL games featuring in the top 8 are internationals, not NRL. Only 7 of the top 20 are NRL where as 11 are AFL despite us having 3 less rounds.

Im still laughing at people trying to include NRL total metro V AFL 2/3s of metro total with the NRL still comming out second best. Not to metion that NRL have 8 rounds played compared to 5 rounds.

NRL is NRL, not rep games. If you can't see the difference you more stupid than I thought!

Home and away NRL gets smashed by home and away AFL. Not even in the top 7 despite 3 more rounds!

The AFL is even smashing RL rep games this year.

Oh and in round 5 a lot of the 7 mate results are not in for example Freo V Carlton got 760K with 7 mate results which would be better then all of the NRL games bar 1.
