They could win the AFL premiership 5 times in a row and they will still have less than half the fans of the newer Wanderers football team.

Western Sydney just don't give two shits about AFL or the Giants. Sydney barely even noticed the Swans were in it last year. Can't even remember if they won.
So it will still be more than Canberra, West Tigers, Gold Coast Titans, New Zealand and Cronulla!!!!! Oh dear so by that analysis the same is true for those five!!
Haha those teams all have there fans. Unfortunately for the Giants, your fans don't seem to exist.
Why is membership down for Giants as well as sponsorship then??? lol

If they had that many fans, they would not need to play in two cities and need an extra 3.25 million dollar grant from AFL this year to prop them up.

Egg on your face as usual dickhead  =D> =D>

3000 in Canberra.. the lowest this number has been since 2011
& 4600 are brain washed sthn **** tipping in to make their numbers respectable

Tigers are the lowest in Sydney for NRL clubs at 9100 nearly 3 times as many

If AFL having to fork out an extra 3.25 million for the Giants to stay afloat is the sign of a successful club to you. Then you really must be delusional. =D> =D>

In 2013 the Giants made a profit - last year was the first time they haven't - but like the AFL said many times this is a generational decision they are in it for the long haul and success will be looked at over 25 years not the first 5. Unlike the NRL who use clubs like tissues then throw them away regardless of history. E.g. Newtown, North Sydney, SQ Crushers, Perth Reds, Hunter Mariners Glebe, Cumberland, Newcastle Rebels, Annandale, University, Gold Coast Giants, Seagulls, Chargers and who could forget the Adelaide RAMS! That's a whole league of thrown away clubs - South Sydney Sydney's biggest NRL club who's membership is 12k behind the Swans were thrown away only to get back in by legal action! Then there are the clubs destroyed by merger St.George/Illawara, Wests/Balmain. Maybe that's why the NRL in Australuas largest city only get 7k to a match yet the AFL can get 32k because the AFL will stick by its clubs!

what does the giants funding have to do with them improving as a team?

I agree they are improving as a team but not much else is improving as far as the actual clubs support.

supporters dont just materialise. The Storm's average crowds are still under every Melbourne AFL side after 17 years and making the finals 80% of the time. They averaged well under 10k after 8 years despite making finals. The giants havent made any finals and are only in their 4th season, so why are you judging them now?

Excuses excuses. Why do did the Wanderers get all that support so quickly??? And they started after the Giants, have less money and play in only one city not two like GWS.

AFL spent millions more promoting GWS. Even doing dirty tactics like banning other codes from playing on AFL grounds. Stealing NRL players that have no interest in AFL. Just the money lol

yet still going shit lol =D> =D> =D>

You cannot compare the Wanderers, who made the GF in their first season, to the Giants, who were last or second last for their first 3 seasons.

The Swans have already captured the AFL fans in Sydney. The Giants will need to develop a following which will take some success, and will take many years. Only a troll or a fool would judge them based their first years of existence
