Remember, we're talking about the popularity of the Storm and Rebels in Melbourne and as TV ratings are of a national figure they are not of any use in this circumstance. Well, unless you can access Foxtel ratings for Melbourne anyway.

we can roughly estimate
Raiders V Storm
Brumbies V Rebels
all both on pay ... on the 2 occasions they played in 2012
no Sydney sides .. or QLD sides playing .....larger then normal audience in Melb & Canb for obvious reasons for both codes
Raiders/ Storm
Rnd 1...337,000
Rnd 18.... 253,000
590,000 ....
Brumbies V Rebels
Rnd 8...... 81,000
Rnd 15..... 76,000
157,000...........
ahhhhh...... case closed

So because no NSW or QLD side was playing, this blocks out NSW and QLDers from watching does it?

It's well known that nRL is more popular than real rugby in NSW and QLD, but not in Victoria and the ACT however. Once you get tv audiences for both codes in those regions you can't rely on national tv audiences, that's bloody moronic!
ACT Brumbies crowds > Raiders crowds.
Melbourne Rebels crowds > Storm crowds.
End of

So because no NSW or QLD side was playing, this blocks out NSW and QLDers from watching does it?
who said this you half witted peanut
they'd also watch the yawnion as well
I said more Canberrans & Melbournians would watch these games for obvious reasons
I'd say 5 to 10% of the entire audiences would be from these 2 cities ... leaving 80 to 90% for the rest of the country
proving beyond doubt ... that RL is more popular by a mile .. in both cities

And I wasn't denying that NSW or QLD weren't watching the union as well, I actually said that as the nRL is more popular than union in those states, it means that there would be a larger portion of league fans watching the nRL there meaning a national audience in this circumstance is useless.
Unless you can find Foxtel figures for Melbourne and Canberra RU and RL matches alone, you can't compare TV ratings. You can quite easily compare crowds though, but we all know who dominates that

590K to 157K
even with 50% of the audience for these yawnion games coming from Canberra & Melbourne ( it wouldn't be anywhere near this figure )
&
just 15% for the NRL ( very very likely ) ..... the NRL wins in these cities
NRL>>>>>>>> Union .. in Melb & Canberra

				Relying on magical numbers now

Also comparing two games you need to other stuff into account such as what day/night the matches were on, what other sports they were up against on TV etc. You've shown none of this so far.
Union crowds and union participation in Canberra and Melbourne > nRL crowds and participation in Canberra and Melbourne.

how are they magical
they're cold hard numbers ......... all 4 games were on Sat 's up against the same opposition from other codes
but but butting along like a little steam train is spewie

participation means nothing .. refer to soccer
& crowds .... rebels falling & WILL be behind the Storm in 2013 , Storms biggest crowd .. bigger then the Rebels in 2011 & 2012 & RL's far bigger the RU's as a code.
Brumbies ... all but minor premiers of the Aust conference & on top til the final round , yet STILL one of their lowest crowd averages in their history
the Raiders in the same possie .... bigger crowds then the brumbies .. for sure
biggest crowd of either code in 2012 ....Raiders
biggest in 2013 RL ( the ANZAC test in Canb will sell out for sure )

& as we've established
its not a contest on the box
RL >>>> Union in Canb & Melb
end of

The 15 and 50%.. pulled right out of your arse.
Saturday what time? Also the matches from other sports that they were up against is another factor to consider.

but but but

And that's with the Storm sponging off of the AFL's ANZAC Day game every year!

Stewie, stop trying so hard, you look desperate just to get one thing over RL, it's pretty bad when you start using other sports to make your point because yours can't, or when you use clubs from your sport to make a point because again, yours can't

Who had the biggest this year stewie?
Who had the biggest TV ratings on both FTA and Pay TV?
Who has the most juniors?
Come on stewie, tis only one little nRL club, surely the Vfl's littlest one is bigger than lowly parrafatta?

Who do you think is going to get higher tv ratings when one is based in a city of almost 5 million? Apples and oranges

Juniors? ummm

An average crowd is a better indication of a clubs support than a one off big crowd because of someone retiring.
PAFC > Parra Fatter.
