damn good question :-k

& any easy answer.. they wouldn't as they're not f.uckwits
gws will be a success story, look at the goldcoast suns, they started off the reason with lower then expected crowd numbers and by the end they were getting 15k to a game, titans couldn't even do that.
yes lets look at the thuns shall we

They were severely effected by renovations this year.

The storms have dropped despite consistent GF appearances.
Crowds for the Swans were also severely affected by the construction of the Victor Trumper Stand in 2008.

As for the Storm, as someone else pointed out, weren't crowds meant to increase once they moved into their new purpose built state of art stadium in Melbourne? Why wont the people of Melbourne embrace the Storm?

the swines crowds have dropped 5 out of the last 6 years .. despite constant success
& only 1 of those years was there any construction at the SCG

bit harder to explain that eh ?
if the Swines have any increases in support off the back of winning another tainted ... contrived manipulated comp
then it will be more then matched by the loss of support for the biggest pack of ********* in Australian sport .. the midgits

Okay, those are the figures for an AFL team in nRL 'heartland', let's look at how the nRL team in nRL 'heartland' has been trending:

2007 21489
2008 21618
2009 19178
2010 17877
2011 15428
2012 14405
2013 RIP

Oh dear. Observant readers will note the 2011 figure is lower than their AFL rival. Oh and Dave, let me just respond in advance to your inevitable post of:

"Thuns have been......  :x fudgey wudgying....their figures.....  but of course AFL brainwash....but but but   =D> #-o "

Only one team on the Gold Coast has been caught posting incorrect figures

their rival didn't have a 33% drop in attendances in year 2 .... they had a rise

The warriors went from 26k to 8k in 4 years  gone, all gone now :-k

Melbourne went from 12k to 8k in 7 yrs despite success

The cowboys almost halved their crowds in 8 yrs.

4 years .... 7 years .... 8 years
no new expansion NRL side has ever .... ever .. experienced a 33% drop in crowds from their first year .. to their 2nd
thats un heard of
as we all know its actually worse then that ...as the thuns fudge their crowds as well
it could be as bad as a 50% drop
the VFL will have the distinction of having this type of disaster happen to it .. twice ... & have it happen .. 2 years in a row
when something similar happens to the midgits in 2013

after 8 years
christ knows what these 2 teams of oxygen theives will be drawing

Some points that Dave seems to be blissfully dismissing:

1) The Titans went from wooden spooners in 2011, to 2 games outside the 8 in 2012. And despite this rise on-field, their attendance STILL continued to drop.
2) The Suns are an expansion club in apparently 'nRL heartland'. In their first year in nRL heartland, the nRL club the Titans failed to outdraw the AFL team in nRL heartland. In their 2nd year in nRL heartland, the nRL club managed to outdraw the AFL club in nRL heartland by less than 1,000.

I'll also just point out that in 2012 the Suns - who finished 2nd bottom - still had a higher attendance than the Storm, who won the premiership.

Tinfoil hat stuff again Dave...

Yes they dropped. We also hear that the majority of NRL expansion clubs start at a competitive level straight away. The AFL havent done this so a few years of poor performance in a row has resulted in crowd decline. Hardly surprising.

What's concerning is if they continue to drop despite success like a number of NRL teams.

and the titans will probably be there abouts again in 2013 & i don't expect any drop in their average .. or .. any great rise either

however
I don't think the thuns will do all that well next year ... I don't think they'll get out of the bottom 6 in the next 3 or 4 years
& guess what will happen to their average crowd in the meantime
no go on .... have a guess

will it be higher then the Storms then champ   ?....

I don't think they'll make the 8 next year, but the Suns will go alright next year (Jaeger ftw). In the AFL system there's a common phenomenon we call '2nd year blues'. It's when a player has a great forst year, but then drops off the pace in his 2nd. The majority of the Suns' team this year were 2nd year players. Their wins were the same, but every other on-field metric was better than 2011.

Yes, I think the Suns' average will be better than the Storm's.

based on the above ..its not in dispute ... they're on their way .. out

did NRL crowds drop by 33% at any stage in the last 8 years .. on the peak of 2005 ?
no
or have they gone down 5 out of the last 6 years ?
no

take a hike then with your but but butting

if the answer had been yes to either question . & its yes to BOTH for the swines 8-[
the natural conclusion by any unbiased person would be they're struggling ..... really struggling

all the turd polishing in the world can't hide this fact
I didn't start at zero. 2007 was an increase on 2006 for the Swans, and 2005 was an increase on 2004 for the NSWRL. I will not resort to name calling with you Dave, as you almost certainly have cognative disabilities and that would be wrong.

The drop from the Swans' peak of 35k in 2007, is more significant than the drop in the NSWRL since 2005's mighty average of 16k. In much the same way as a fall from Everest is worse than a fall from an anthill. I'd still preferred to have climed Everest in the first place though  .

Regardless of the percentages, the fact remains, that using your maths logic, if the Swans crowds have dropped for 7 years in a row, so have the NSWRL's.

Say it.
Say it Dave.
