Probably not going to happen. "Bad man" will continue to exist and thwart AFL plans for world domination - sorry Australian domination.

No it's not a good reflection on RL if a sports mad city like Melbourne can only muster a maximum average of 14K. I would suggest that there are no AFL clubs anywhere with such a low average.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

Haha

Melbourne, the sporting capital of Australia, which is famous for attending a wide range of sports at record levels.......except RL. I think that reflects poorly on RL, not Melbourne.

Before they were busted in 2010, they had played 3 home games at the dome and were averaging 23,000+, then the **** hit the fan.

They'll get back there, but it's going to take a couple more seasons to people to forget, or, maybe they'll get better support when News LMD don't own their sorry arse.
amost word for word what I was gunna say parra

AAMI is a great little venue .. but ******** have been slow to fall in love with it
its not just the storm
the Melb Victory play to up to 40K at Etihad
about only 15K at AAMI except when they're playing the other melb side

it seems melbournians don't seem to like to go to grounds that are rectangle in shape ... they lose their bearings if people on the other side of the ground aren't 150m away .. instead of just 80

weirdos of the highest order :-k
They're real tough these RL fans! They won't go to an older stadiumand they won't go to a rectangle stadium! They won't go when it rains and they won't go when it's fine because theres other things to do.

Essentially they don't go because RL just ain't interesting enough when any minor detraction or distraction is involved.

LMFAO!
& soccer fans .. whats their excuse
they don't like AAMI either ... I don't know why , seems like a fine venue .. but Melbournians seem to be a bit fussier then first thought
the morons don't like their sports stars too close during games :-k , & prefer their games .. even those played on a rectangle fields
.. played on a half acre paddock
weirdos of the highest order #-o

it seems

No definitely Melbourne. Game is way too popular elsewhere to be the games fault.

Did you ever think that maybe because AAMI stadium was opened around about the same time frame that Melbournes soccer audience was split in two by the introduction of the hearts?

That statement has absolutely no back up whatsoever. It is the game's fault.

Always interesting how the AFL crew interpret lower crowds for the NRL as "low" crowds. Very Freudian. they cannot hang their hat on TV ratings any more so the crowds it must be.

That's one of the most embarrassing posts I've seen.

You honestly believe that a collection of 4 million people are statistically the dumbest people in the country?

Any statistical proof of this?

And if it's so boring and dull why is it voted more livable than Sydney repeatedly?

Talk about revenue while you can as the next League TV deal will somewhat impact on that capability. If the NRL gets around the $1b mark then on a cost basis it will be a better net position than the AFLs. The additional AFL costs over a 5 year period are in the order of $400m to $500m. Net return will become an interesting subject.

An enormous portion of the AFL clubs revenue comes from memberships, crowds and major sponsors. So even despite the huge difference in the TV rights the AFL is miles ahead of The NRL.
