AFL Attendances in Adelaide will be higher this season
AFL Attendances in Perth will be higher this season

Thos are both certainties, and there's every chance that the Swans will record a higher attendance also.

More insane lies from Raider Dave.

you wonder if they have fixed the ticket machines yet

Gold Coast Titans' crowds crisis could be worse than originally feared.

Stadiums Queensland is about to launch an investigation into a ticketing error that led to almost 14,000 extra fans being added to the club's total attendance at Skilled Park during the past 12 months.

The last-placed Titans insist they have not posted any deliberately inflated attendances.

A malfunction in ticket-scanning machines is believed to be responsible for the error.

As the Titans and AFL's Suns wage a cross-code battle for fans on the Gold Coast, a probe of Stadiums Queensland's most recent annual report uncovered major irregularities in the Titans' official home crowd figures.

The 95-page government report, detailing the activities of Queensland's nine big sporting stadiums for the 2009-10 financial year, showed:

NRL Adjudicator

R22 verdict: 'Can't understand the Souths excitement'
* None of the Titans' home crowds announced at 14 games matched the attendances printed in the annual report.
http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-pre ... 6100661894

this goes on the back of the free tickets and free public transport to and from the game

WHEN the gates swing open for the first Gold Coast home game of the season tomorrow, the Titans will almost immediately start counting their losses.
Not on the scoreboard, but in the bank balance.
This is the reality for many NRL clubs where it doesn’t matter how much you fill a stadium, you’re only putting money in someone else’s pocket.
For the Titans, Broncos and Cowboys the pockets that fill the most are usually Stadiums Queensland, Ticketek and venue caterers.
For every ticket issued to a fan or club member, most never reaches the football club because of enormous overheads such as the “free train travel” which is a cost clubs must pay regardless of how many people board a rattler.
To win back crowds the Titans have offered children free entry to every home game this season with a paying adult into the eastern grandstand.

“No-one runs an event to try and lose money, this is to try and encourage people to come to the games,” Titans CEO Graham Annesley said.

maybe that's why why the titans are so far in debt

Yep, seems alot of people are talking about the fudging of crowd numbers continuing at the Titans again this season. The Suns are killing the Titans on the Gold Coast. How good was that crowd for the Suns vs Tigers on the weekend. Way to go Suns. =D> =D> =D>

That article is from june 2011. And there hasnt been a report or allegation of NRL crowd fudging since july 2011 when the storm ceo said that everyone did it.
the NRL has a history of fudging games, there has been a number of articles of it over the years and even on the Leagues united forum, they where talking about the final crowd figure being very stretched,
on the radio this afternoon, one of the officials from the titans was commenting on the hot weather keeping people away, but in robina where the stadium is only recorded a top of 29 degree

Heard ads all day yesterday promoting the NRL clash between South Sydney vs Wests Tigers last night as "a battle between 2 of Sydney's fiercest rivals". End result of the NRL marketing campaign... a stadium less than 1/4 filled. What's going on with NRL crowds. Down, down, NRL crowds are down.

How is your comp sizing up so far beaussie, round 2 back to last years levels for the NRL. AFL on the other hand, round 1 down at least 35% on last year and lucky to match crowds of 93 :\:

Comp is just fine were not the ones making outlandish predictions - just look at the match ups
GC v Tigers - at metricon max capacity is 25k
Coll v Freo - at Edihad - Thursday night
Swans v GWS - at Spotless max capacity 25k
Hawks v Lions at Aurora stadium max capacity is 20k

Says more about playing at small venues and odd times than popularity - not exactly blockbusters. And certainly no cause for alarm - starting this early is something AFL fans are not used to.
