Hahahaha
500k in WA, 200k in SA, 500k in Tas, 1.2m in vic, plus southern NSW. This equals 1.5m?
Maths Dave maths!

Fri TV: #AFL #aflsaintsfreo 1.05m #Seven Mel 385k Ade 118k Per 207k #7mate Syd 23k Bri 47k #FoxFooty 271k
Interestingly it beat the ARLs international test against NZ, the best 2 teams in international RL.
Fri TV: #NRL 914k+84k+30k Total 1.02m - Syd 516k Mel 15/73k (GEM) Bri 365k Ade 10/11k (GEM) Per 8/30k (GEM) #NZvAUS @DeadSetLegends. Note that this seems to include two telecasts to Vic SA WA
So a run of the mill AFL match between two non-top 5 teams, beats the only RL game on this weekend which was an international RL test match between Australia and NZ!
Too funny!
hmmmm
VFL
1.05 million metro & pay .... & 150K regionals
1.155 mill overall
the RL test
1.02 Mill metro ... & 600K regional
1.602 mill overall
yes .... thats a win isn't it
imagine if we'd whacked the test on pay as well ( like we will from 2013) ... another 300K
nearly double the vicky kicky
marcus ... a drubbling of epic proportions

Yeah dave and don't forget the Kiwi viewers on FOX = 238,760 :D

If international RL was interesting to metropolitan australians it shouldn't have to rely on regional counts to win. It's the best of Australian RL v the best of NZ, yet it didn't even beat an everyday run of the mill home and away AFL game when shown to Australias 14 million metro audience!
AFL, better than anything RL can throw up.

1.6 Million... to 1.1 Million
end of story

Dont forget if it were live there would be at least another 100k viewers around the country.

As long as you remember to add extra ratings to Perth and Adelaide each week.

XMan, SA numbers are to small to bother counting according to regional Tam.

The AFL don't broadcast into NZ, they used to back in the 90's but was canned shortly after. NRL have the NZ warriors and allows us to justify adding NZ figures week in week out. We also broadcast all NRL games on NZ fox and have a Tv right contract with them. The AFL don't broadcast for profit to any nation in the world its called aussie rules for a reason Xman, you know the Australian game that no other nation plays professionally.

So when the AFL have a team in NZ or another country sure you can add pay tv ratings for that country but until then suck it up princes. :D
And on that note cant wait to get a team in PNG in the NRL, that's over 7 million population in that country and the national game is rugby league. More ratings to rub in your face Xman :D

I'm perfectly happy to concede the NRL is mor popular in NZ. But ARs rules Australia by quite some distance.

Nice try at moving the posts Xman, so you admit that it is more then fair for us to add NZ ratings due to us having a NZ team in the comp and broadcast all our games to NZ?
And soon to be PNG team in the next 10-15 years.

NZ ratings are irrelevant when comparing codes for the Australian markets.

According to you, regional viewers are also irrelevant.
