But that doesn't make it a RL town! AF is still the biggest in the NT!

I think your missing the point, more than likely your choosing too . The much maligned Melbourne Storm the rugby league club has absolutely smashed the numbers of anything that Collingwood, Carlton, Hawthorn or any other AFL club could come up with. The stat of things to come

Its a stand alone game on TV. Friday nights, Saturday nights and Sundays are against other games and other codes.

This thread is about which code is number one. A national TV audience of 360k pales in comparison to 4m on TV for GFs, 100k attendances, or 75k memberships.

Whats with "things to come"? The NRL has been on PTV for decades

Yes, - a Melbourne - a club set up in the heartland of the AFL and it more wached than any Melbourne club - wow. Crowds is the only area you do well in.Your obssesed by crowds - even though yours continue to fall. Its money that makes the world go round. With all your great crowd success  only 5 of your clubs managed to show a profit without poker machines last year.

And Xman you need to step out of your fantasy word that your livi ing in. The NRL was the only code to post 400k last year and the year before..... :))) this is the real world. How long since the AFL have got ratings of 400k?

Again you focus on only one aspect - xman quiet rightly points out crowds and memberships but what about sponsorship, total revenues the NRL gets smashed here too - perhaps it's you focusing on only ONE aspect and tell us this how many of this 400 k ratings came from Melb?

NRL total revenue 330 mil - AFL 450 mil + 89 mil in future fund and whilst already having used the SAME money RL claims to inject into development already accounted for, NRL profit is just ducks and drakes and smoke and mirrors they claim they are going to invest in the code - yet the AFL already does - the AFL had an operating profit of 310 mil and a net surplus of 16.8 mil - it paid 206 mil to clubs - the NRL didn't come close to these figures so again Pussycat you have been proven to be completely wrong!

:blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: AFL liabilities much much greter than ever - cash injections to struggling clubs.

Future fund    - From the AFL's 2013 annual report
The AFL Future Fund, which was established over the
2007-11 financial years, still has a balance of $89.4 million as
at the end of the 2013 financial year. This Future Fund was
established to assist with the long-term financial health of
the AFL. At this point in time, the funds will continue to be
invested in accordance with the AFL’s Investment Policy.
Bottom line
NrL profit 3x that of the AFL's

Bottom line is your delusional - that's exactly what I said AFL total revenue 450 mil + 89 mil in the futures fund, total operating surplus 300+ mil - total operating profit 16.8 mil - read it and weep! The NRL's margins are going to get tighter this year with smaller crowds and a greater share to clubs - but they will have to invest billions to get more people playing outside of QLD/NSW - money the AFL has already spent!!!! FFS you have less than 10k playing the game in WA, SA, NT, Tas and Vic - AFL has 28000 in NSW alone - so pussycat whatever you think your argument was you have now been whipped! AFL is number one while NRL is struggling to hold onto a DISTANT second against A League!!!! Lol hahaha!

read it and weep? - Our profit was 3x that of yours because we don't have the costs and expenses of your mob . Expences and extra costs that you somehow see as a good thing - D's brainwashing really runs deep in this one. :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

Same ol same ol - your profits tell me how much profits have the NRL made in the last 10 yrs???? 50 mil that's all - AFL has dipped just twice in that time when they built from scratch two new clubs - and the NRL no expansion in sight falling crowds AND TV - clubs without a major sponsor and having to go cap in hand to touch to make them even remotely relevant participation wise!!! Yes enjoy your profit - meanwhile AFL will continue to expand pour money into development and build - the future so bright we have to wear shades !!
