Will be a great for AFL having such a great ground and venue. Plus not having to pay anything as an added bonus. And their ground being show cased to the world.

And we know how good the G looks when full and a view from above - imagine a full Victoria Park with the city in the background. Qld government have made the right choice here. Imagine thinking a QSAC revamp even being thought of?

I hear they are considering Suncorp for the swimming lol ?
well all AFL grounds are showcased to the World Fwed
as Cricket grounds ..... because thats what they are & no one on the planet outside Australia would know them for anything else

Do people think this will also be a great financial opportunity for the lions? More through the gate, corporate bigger and better, memberships will be up, and exposure will be hugh- driving up sponsorship price ?

they'll play to the same 35K they always do
that seems to be the numb of expats in Brisbane & as we know , they're the only ones who watch fumbleball in QLD

i most certaintly expect a crowd lift in the new stadium

well that won't go down well if that is the case ( i don;t think it will )
The 3 rectangle sports playing out of Suncorp , including the states premier sport ....will want their chop & Suncorp upgraded to 65K.
How Crisa... fooli.. could justify every other sport getting blingy flashy new venues & League , Union & Soccer getting nothing will go down like a turd milkshake , so almost certainly another billion will be put into Suncorp too

The Lions get really good crowds at the Gabba, so there is no reason why they wouldn't get good crowds at Victoria Park, unless they suddenly start losing games and end up on the bottom of the ladder.

New Brisbane Arena will be built at Victoria Park too, so no need for any upgrades at Suncorp I would assume. Amazing stadium as is.

Good on ya Skip. That's almost a balanced statement pal. Congratulations. And no mention of bum sniffing. Proud of ya pal. Keep up the good work.

Suncorp will remain as is. A fine stadium as is, described by many RL people as the best rectangular stadium in Australia. No need for any upgrades.

The new Victoria Park stadium will however be the jewel of stadiums in QLD for AFL, Cricket and big concerts/shows. Going to be an amazing new stadium. The biggest in QLD. :thumbleft:

it will be upgraded aka the original plan to 65K
the NRL , Broncos , Dolphins Maroons
will insist on it

Soccer & Rugby Union will hold the QLD govt to the plan too
Wallabies games , Matildas Socceroos games

its required
it will happen

you would think Suncorp and surrounds gets a very good Upgrade (being that it is the Elite go to stadium in Brisbane)
Being rectangle and services multiple codes.
