Can’t see a third team for some while yet. Whilst there are plenty of kids playing and plenty of adult leagues as well - I would focus on building that even more - whilst AFL is clearly the second sport here there asrhe geo between it and rugby league.

Apparently the AFL CEO wants the 20th AFL team in Brisbane. Not sure how that could work. The lions have really struggled for support when they are low on the table.

Don’t see it - whilst Aussie rules has a following here that the nrl would love to have in say Adelaide or WA - there simply isn’t room for a third team.

Got to look after the NT before any other place despite its small population.
Some NT away games could be played in Cairns.
Bring back the Bears.

70 mill PA in... required... assistance just to survive ...for the 2 clubs there , including the premiers.. suggests derpball is no closer to taking QLD then they were in 1987 & are in fact ... falling further behind

AFL has seriously limited options for team 20
like

none
unless WA is forced to take a 3rd team they have nothing viable .... meanwhile

the NRL has team 18 in (PNG)
& for its teams to get to 20 & future teams to go to 22 by say 2040
, a TV deal of 800 mill PA , a grant of 40 million & a salary cap of 20 million per team PA
has
Perth
NZ2 out of christchurch
QLD 5... SW corridor
Adelaide

all absolutely viable
NRL
taking over

Looks like you and Beaussie have set a certain League fan off mentioning the popularity of AFL in the sunshine state :D:

The local recruits have made the difference, they can play and they want to stay, this years draft (2025) will be even better for gold coast, their academy players are outstanding.
At least 10 years as a power.
Who would have thought that 2 Queensland sides would top the ladder…..pity it wont last….this year….
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.
