agreed, it was a good test run to see how things went and evaluate later
What's the standard like? The AFLW is shocking.

There's been a lot of "they should be getting better pay, why aren't more people watching and getting around it."

It's hard to suddenly embrace something with an under 12's standard "just because we should".
Standard is pretty good .
There's been Women's test matches played for ages between Aust & NZ .
So there's plenty of players who have played at high levels & have all the skills .
Yeah makes sense.
Do you guys watch/enjoy?

ive only watched around 1 half of a game so far, its not bad, the standard of play
is pretty much like it has been when AUS v NZ

but women's sport in general, i tend to not follow much.

However looking over it,

i think the NRL is taking the right approach.. in taking it alot slower than the AFL..

cause they AFL is expanding rapidly in the womens game, which is very strange..
because the quality of play and players is poor.

yet they have been quick to add more teams..

That's it. They've suddenly shoved it down our throats, at an awful standard. Not that I've researched the planning and development of the league, but that's certainly how it feels.

All about each club wanting and fighting for a license so they don't 'miss the boat'.

There are not nearly enough decent players.

yeah true point, I think The AFL is trying to get as much teams out there
ASAP to get Participation up as quick as possible

to become the Biggest Female competition in Australia.

unfortunately the quality it has provided is probably the worst in women's sport in Australia.

That's exactly it. Participation.
To be fair, that seems to be working so far. My niece plays and they have 3 age groups at the junior club. I've been to watch and you haven't seen fumbling until you've seen this, but they are loving it atm.
There's definitely a lot of work being done at the grassroots level so we'll see if it can be sustained.

The on-field product was impossible to watch as a male, the Mouncey stuff didn't help credibility but if it's getting the kids playing - that's the big win.

Every match in next four years to be live on TV

ALL 38 matches of next year's NAB AFL Women's competition will be shown live on television, with the Seven Network and Foxtel to share the coverage.

All matches will also be streamed live on Seven and Foxtel digital platforms and via the AFLW App.

The AFL did not receive a rights fee for the first two AFLW seasons, but the new four-year deal is said to be valued at around $2 million.

Prehaps you can give us an up date? As the media didn’t share much info about it! Due to lack of interest!

A lack of even more so unskilled fatties waddling around a field sniffing bums and throwing the ball 3 meters side ways
