NlolRL IF The AFL had a Match bigger than there H&A season like R.L does with SOO
do you think it would have affect on your middle rounds of AFL football ??
as SOO gets upwards of 4 million per game...
affecting figures, therefore Friday becomes less of an Event..
the AFL would never compromise the AFL season to run a rep series.
Having said that I accounted for the SOO effected rounds in my comparison by eliminating them, and the AFL still came out well ahead
The AFL has already tried
wrong. The VFL, SANFL and WAFL succesfully ran SOO for decades. Once the game became national the novelty lost importance

I dont even understand half the stuff you state above. It's a;; over the place.
You don't get it or you refuse to get it because it reflects on just how pathetic your game is?
At club level we play 7 less FTA night matches than you do. And yet we still have as many matches that rate above one million. You have twice as many day time FTA matches.
Only about 30% of people have PTV. and people who had the sports package would reduce that numberer to about 20%. Of that number 5% of the people who have the sports pack would only be interested in racing or soccer only. So just 15% would watch the NRL/AFL. Half of that 15% would be AFL watchers and half would be NRL watchers, halving that figure yet again. of those 7.5% who are AFL viewers the amount that watch 6 matches would be half that and halve that again for people who watch more than 6 matches. So while the AFL might have some disadvantage here - its tiny. abuot 1 or 2 % of the people that have PTV.
Having more than one game on tv gives the AFL viewer a choice a choice that the NRL viewer doesn't have, If I don't like the Penrith v Warrior match then I am forced to go out and mow the lawn or do something else. An AFL viewer can simply change the channel and watch the Carlton game.

Poor old fumblers. They live in the propaganda bubble for so long that when reality is explained to them they just can't accept it .

every Saturday night is 2 games split across the country on FTA. How are they supposed to rate 1 million each when neither of them are shown nationally?

Same as Saturday and Sunday, neither game is shown nationally on FTA so there's no way they will rate over about 500k each.

You got any evidence for this BS?
Most subscribers to Foxtel would have it for sport, which is why the majority of fox's best ratings shows are sport. No one I know gets foxtel for the variety of channels. Some maybe for shows like GOT's but the vast majority for NRL, RU or AFL.

It only gives choice to those with fox. If you dont have fox youre locked into what every game is shown in your city. Often this is a local team who may be involved in the lesser game of the two playing. Also, I compared Thursday and Friday when neither code has choice.
I want you to answer why the AFL get most of the highest rating games of the home and away season yet the NRL win the season tally. Why, in your opinion, would that be?

Perfect example of this.. (and what the AFL usually does and it works well for them.
A SATURDAY NIGHT GAME x 2
Crows v West Coast. (airs LIVE INTO SA AND WA) where you get maximum viewers for home state game
Western Bulldogs v Swans (airs LIVE INTO VIC AND NSW (where you get maximum viewers for home state game
Not many people would be interested in NSW AND VIC watching crows v eagles and vice versa
and if you live in VIC and want to watch crows game (simple turn over on FOX)
Clear advantages here ...

2 points.
1. Neither game will achieve over 500k because they are not shown nation-wide. So 2 games for a total of around 1m. The the only single game the AFL has that achieves around 1m is Friday night. Where as the NRL get a single game with 1m viewers for both Thursday and Friday.
2. If the game shown into Melbourne is between two poorly performing sides, and the game shown into Perth and Adelaide is the match of the round, splitting the games actually reduces the potential audience. This happened last year when Adelaide played Sydney, which was one of the matches of the year, yet Melbourne were shown Carlton v Brisbane (or similar)

There added up and put together just as twitter does!

Its generally accepted the level is about 30% , maybe its a bit more maybe not? The rest is just an gestimate but it wont be to far of the mark. If you think more than 2/3 of PTV viewers have the sports pack than You need to get out more.

Thats exactly right! Than those ratings are added to ratings from other areas and you get your total.

.
That's an easy one. The NRL has rep football and the club competition only takes up 80% of our efforts! whereas you have nothing else.
Just remember though , AFL has more FTA games of a night and the NRL ,and yet the AFL get past the 1m ratings mark the same number of times as NRL at club level....

So you acknowledthe AFL competition rates better than the NRL but RL takes the lead with reps and internationals?

But Wookie doesnt do this, nor is it reflected in the individual game's tallies. Essentially we need 2 games to get 1m when if they were shown in isolation theyd get 1m each

yep, and the total is from 2 games. Therefore claiming we both have a similar number of games for the season is simply incorrect. We need 2 games to make up what a single game gets when shown in isolation

Point 1 answered
The AFL do play 8 Thursday games this year.
not all games are going to hit 1 mill mark..
How do you suppose a Brisbane Lions v Port Adelaide will hit the 1million mark.
that is why the AFL splits the games, so it increases the figure overall..
Point 2 answered
yes this will happen from time to time... there are pros and cons with this scheduling...
but the games are shown nationwide To half of the country on FTA and ALSO available on FOX
THE NRL get done by this week in week out
with 5 exclusive games on FOX which is not available to 70% of the country.
not all the good games are on FTA.
overall the AFL TV Schedule in my opinion is a better deal.

Lions v Port would still get more than bluckbuster on Saturday night, because neither can be shown nation-wide.
I agree the AFL have the better deal. However, Claiming there are over 200 games on TV is misleading because 2 games get the same ratings as one when shown at the same time
