But reports show that the NRL knew about the Storm cap breaches for over a year before this date and allowed them to win the premiership anyway.

STEVEN Trigg is a tall man more suited to playing full-forward than riding a horse, but he now has a lot in common with Damien Oliver.

The jockey was rubbed out for 10 months and will return for the big dance next spring.

Trigg could very well be celebrating with a cup of a different kind next spring after today receiving no more than a slap on the wrist from the AFL Commission.

The Adelaide chief executive pleaded guilty to a role in breaching salary cap rules and compromising the draft, yet was suspended for only six months from January 1. Pathetic.... =D>

He wants to stay in the role, leaving his future in the hands of the board he kept secrets from, and gut-feel says he will clear that hurdle.

Given chairman Rob Chapman's public support tonight for Trigg, the Crows expect him to return to work on July 1.

Chapman made it clear Trigg was the best man to lead the club forward even though his future was up for review. It just doesn't sit well.

In the harsh light of day, does Trigg decide it is untenable and fall on his sword? It would seem a tough gig for anyone to resume their place in the top chair.

This dark cloud will dog Trigg forever and any success the club will seem tainted while he is there.

Club CEOs have been moved on for a lot less. Regardless of what Chapman and his board mates say, he should resign. =D> =D> =D> AFL a joke to the nation....................a license to cheat boys(AFL clubs)

Yeah because the punishment dished out to your salary cap cheats was damning.lol Not one player suspended and both clubs went on to win a flag no more than a year later with basically the same squad they cheated to get.Tippett 11 weeks 50000(a years wages for some in league),Crows 500000 and no picks for 2 drafts.Trigg will resign nothing is surer.

This article criticises the punishment handed out to one person. It never mentions the severity of the penalties to the Crows or Tippett.
