				Hey stewie, serious question now.
If you had at least $5 Billion, would you try and completely kill Rugby League off in Australia thus more or less killing the pro game world wide off if you could?

Yep, Rebels crowds are about 2,000 higher than the Storm premiers. Of course the Rebels don't go head to head with the AFL but the Storm do

Remember, the AFL release their schedule well before the nRL do theirs, so if the nRL want to avoid clashes they easily can.

Storm and RL are not scared of Vgb, that's the difference between all the codes.

Good to see the Suns aiming big. Currently 4,920 members signed up.
Twenty thousand members and one AFL Premiership in three years, that’s the commitment from Gold Coast SUNS Chairman John Witheriff as he officially launched 20-ONE-3, by far the boldest undertaking in the Clubs short history.

I know the storm are part of a comp that just got over a Billion dollars, so wtf are the rebels doing?

Remember, we're talking about the popularity of the Storm and Rebels in Melbourne and as TV ratings are of a national figure they are not of any use in this circumstance. Well, unless you can access Foxtel ratings for Melbourne anyway.

we can roughly estimate
Raiders V Storm
Brumbies V Rebels
all both on pay ... on the 2 occasions they played in 2012
no Sydney sides .. or QLD sides playing .....larger then normal audience in Melb & Canb for obvious reasons for both codes
Raiders/ Storm
Rnd 1...337,000
Rnd 18.... 253,000
590,000 ....
Brumbies V Rebels
Rnd 8...... 81,000
Rnd 15..... 76,000
157,000...........
ahhhhh...... case closed

So because no NSW or QLD side was playing, this blocks out NSW and QLDers from watching does it?

It's well known that nRL is more popular than real rugby in NSW and QLD, but not in Victoria and the ACT however. Once you get tv audiences for both codes in those regions you can't rely on national tv audiences, that's bloody moronic!
ACT Brumbies crowds > Raiders crowds.
Melbourne Rebels crowds > Storm crowds.
End of

He has a point in terms of local support. Not that it matters. The big TV numbers are going to get you a big stack of cash.
