exactly .. not quite

Swans 13 years in Syd( 1995 ).. average crowd 15,976
Storm 13 years in Melb(2011) .. average crowd 14,288

pretty close I'd of thought
LOL

Storms first 13 years produced 10 finals appearances, 5 GFs and 3 premierships.

Swans first 13 years in Sydney produced 2 finals appearances, no GFs and no premierships.
The swans then made the finals in the next 2 years and their crowd average went up to 36k!! Note, also like the storm, they had barely any FTA coverage. Unlike the storm they had NO payTV coverage. :D

I wonder if the storm will get even above even 20k average next year?? I doubt it. Their average barely increased at all despite them making the GF almost every second year!

Storm played in a delapadated hole for 12 of their 14 years
the Swans.... in a wonderful facility for all of their 30

And most of the time the Storm cheats have been around, they were playing at a crap ground, and when they did move into the new one, they got busted for being cheating lying merkins who ripped my team off in a GF and 3 Prelim finals. Before they were busted in 2010, they had played 3 home games at the dome and were averaging 23,000+, then the **** hit the fan.

They'll get back there, but it's going to take a couple more seasons to people to forget, or, maybe they'll get better support when News LMD don't own their sorry arse.
amost word for word what I was gunna say parra

AAMI is a great little venue .. but ******** have been slow to fall in love with it
its not just the storm
the Melb Victory play to up to 40K at Etihad
about only 15K at AAMI except when they're playing the other melb side

it seems melbournians don't seem to like to go to grounds that are rectangle in shape ... they lose their bearings if people on the other side of the ground aren't 150m away .. instead of just 80

weirdos of the highest order :-k

And two more.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

The tards have nothing, they can say what they like, but the fact remains that before the cap rorters got done in 2010, they were averaging over 23k and one of the games they had played was on a Monday night against Manly.

Too bad for the storm then, they'll just have to work harder. But the potential is there.

They're real tough these RL fans! They won't go to an older stadiumand they won't go to a rectangle stadium! They won't go when it rains and they won't go when it's fine because theres other things to do.

Essentially they don't go because RL just ain't interesting enough when any minor detraction or distraction is involved.

LMFAO!

Etihad has a roof. AAMI Park does not. A very strong difference. Note also that it is impossible for the Storm to get access to Etihad due to it's lack of availability as the AFL takes precedence. If State of Origin wasn't on a Wednesday even that would have trouble getting access to Etihad.

Did anyone say anything like that xwoman?

No.

The fact is, the capacity of op with the big screen in was around 15k and the storm regularly had crowds around that.

They also had regular crowds of 5k!

15k! Imagine if the swans only drew 15k. You'd be cheering their imminent demise! No wait, imagine 5k! #-o

For a team that has featured in the grand final 5 times in 14 years those crowds are a disgrace!
