Rugby league keeps increasing in popularity in Sydney as well you know, regardless of who wins the premiership each year...
Yeah, what was that increase in average H&A crowds for the NRL. Was it and increase of a few hundred to 16,000 odd. :(/
Because the Swans AFL membership has increased by a few thousand, I'm not sure how this will lead to more interest in Non Swans game shown live into Sydney?

If every Swans member watches the telecast, you will have a TV audience of 40.000.

The RL crowds increased about 10% last year - I'm expecting similar increases this year.

TV ratings, Revenues, merchandise sales all up considerably as well...

Also - 5,000 members will decide Souths fate...

Tell me, did the Fitzroy members vote to 'merge' with Brisbane?

Notice you avoided my comment on the Swans getting a "helping hand" each year from the AFL.

Now that's just silly Willis. The average audience for Saturday night AFL H&A game with the Swans playing is 170,000 and increasing. A 1 million+ audience for the AFL GF too.

It is likely that with an increase in popularity for the Swans, more Sydnesiders will take an interest in the other teams in the competition. Well that's certainly been the case in Brisbane where non-Lions games attract reasonable audience numbers.

The average NRL crowds in 2006 increased by a few hundred from the previous season.

Same with the AFL, particularly in NSW.

5,000 will decide the fate of the so-called "Pride of the League". Now that is funny. :_<>

Many, if not most are still members of the Lions today.

What, a cost of living allowance for the Swans, due to the high cost of living in Sydney being recognised as something in need of addressing. Even Eddie, a critic of concessions agrees with that.
