Nah, the Swans seem to attract thousands of Sydney Rooster fans when times are tough for the Chooks.

Yes but Willis, Souths and St George take the Charity Shield seriously each year. Roos came out during the week saying the Swans were going to get slaughtered and he thought the game was a waste of time. Hardly the kind of talk that is going to attract a huge crowd. Do you honestly think there would have been such a crowd at the Charity Shield if the coaches came out and said the game was a waste of time?

Anyway back to the topic of this thread, I noticed the Premier of NSW has announced Sydney FC will get a ticker tape parade in Sydney should they win the A-League Grand Final. So the AFL and A-League get ticker tape parades in Sydney, but not the NRL. :(/

Despite the Gold Coast Titans coming into the NRL next season, more locals attended the AFL match on the weekend than the NRL on the Gold Coast:

AFL - Brisbane vs Essendon - 13,269
NRL - Bulldogs vs NZ Warriors - 12,840
