a sellout at bigger venue eh ?
Yeah,
assured surely, in light of how you have described the hype, match up and circumstances in your OP.
And let’s not forget the thousands of free Storm membership members out there. Storm fans don’t even need to pay to ensure a bigger crowd than AAMI Park’s capacity. Would not be a sellout in the sense of tickets sold of course, but you get the drift yeah.
We’re all set and eager to bear witness to this massive blockbuster in the Victorian capital and home of sport.
i dont agree with Storm giving free memberships away as legit. (it is not)
Punter pays for Home game membership 2021 (In return gets no games to watch)
club says sorry this was out of our hands, we will give you the membership which you "payed for and roll it into 2022"
Now Just because the AFL clubs could not afford to do this (is why they did not do this)
In fact The Storm have given up extra money by doing this.
Storm were applauded for doing so.
imagen an AFL club doing this.. they wouldn't & didn't
oh lets not let a gesture by the storm to look after their members in 2022 who supported them in 2021 ( paying with no games played ) by returning their memberships
honouring them in 2022 as being a dodgy way of inflating their membership figure
they grew their memberships from 25K to 38K anyway meaning it was well received & ensured as a result of their generosity they have members who will support them for life now
The Storm ofc could afford to do this , wealthy owners ... wealthy club
So where were the Melb aflol clubs doing this ?
broke penny pinchers couldn't afford to ... even give .. half priced memberships ... something ?
nuh
piss weak

With apparently, the biggest membership base in the NRL, made up of thousands of free memberships - you’d think the NRL and Storm would shift the game to the bigger capacity Marvel Stadium. Assured sellout yeah… well I mean if just their free membership members show up, that’s a guaranteed larger crowd than AAMI Park’s capacity.
never, why watch a game on an OVAL Stadium and totally wreck the viewing experience
Marvel is easily converted to a square stadium -
a few thousand seats rolled nearer to the ground does not make it square dopey
most seats are still miles from the action
I've been there , its awful...

For more bums on seats and therefore more revenue that's why.
the Storm aren't scraping for every $ like most fumbleball teams
they're a wealthy club & will put the experience of a full AAMI park for their loyal fans ahead of an inferior experience at an oval.

Saw this and thought it was. Funny.
https://www.neds.com.au/blog/2022/05/st ... about-AFL/
There’s a Melbourne one too
https://www.neds.com.au/blog/2022/05/st ... about-nrl/
Note the difference in the people interviews - the attitude of those in Melbourne (either never heard of Storm or had no issue) as opposed to the bogans in the nrl one. Quite a stark difference. Wonder if it wax just edited that way ? Just no chip on the AFL people commenting - as nrl not a threat - but notable need to put AFL down and belittle it by nrl commentators. Interesting indeed.
never heard of the storm
the 3 rules of dealing with fumblers .. remember the middle one ?
Liars
ofc they've heard of them , but they are such filthy liars they claim they haven't , such insular twats
at least NRL fans are honest, when commenting on the utter abortion of a sport called aflol

lets not mention the 15K SCG members who helped the swines sellout the SCG last week who paid...... zip to get in.
otherwise
no sellout .. not even close
infact those members have never paid to watch a swines game
AMMI park
full to the brim
packed
wow
who gives a damn if they helped the swans sellout. - never mind that some of the members area at the SCG are joint SCG/Swans members areas too. Point is they came.
And if you really want to get picky about - the Swans absolutely smash all comers in Sydney for gate and membership revenue by so far its not even funny.
Good for the Storm if they can fill the venue. I dont believe it matters how people get to a match or how much they pay. I believe it matters if they are there.
whhhhaaaaa
whaaa
how dare you expose the swines sellout as ..... anything but
the 6.5 Mill the swines lost a few years ago suggests they need every $ too

No
2020 or 2021 member has paid for their membership in 2022.
A 2020 member didn’t even need to renew in 2021 to get a freebie membership.
Who is receiving free memberships in 2022?
Anyone who was a member in 2021 with access entitlements and have an address in Victoria registered on their membership account, will be provided the opportunity to claim their membership for free in 2022.
Anyone who was a member in 2020 and did not renew in 2021 with access entitlements and have an address in Victoria listed on their membership account, will be provided the opportunity to claim their membership for free in 2022.
https://am.ticketmaster.com/melbournestorm/2022FOCLand
And let’s not forget that all registered rugby league players in Victoria in 2021 also received a free membership in 2022 with additional heavily discounted $20 memberships for parents and guardians.
All registered rugby league players in Victoria in 2021 will receive a free four-game Storm membership while parents or guardians of registered junior players can also purchase an adult four-game membership for $20 – a saving of almost $80.
https://www.melbournestorm.com.au/news/ ... or-league/
The Melbourne Storm record membership numbers in 2022 are as dodgy as it gets and I’m surprised no other NRL club has called them out on it, when they boast they’re the biggest club membership wise in the NRL
With literally thousands of free memberships, the Storm should have no issues attracting a full house.

Scraping?? It's called doing good business with the fans. If it's worth paying for they'll pay.
What's the Storm's excuse?

even with stands in which rarely happens anymore (due to AFL) and wrecking field)
It still looks pathetic..
rectangle is way better,

Fumblers just don’t get it .
Look how far back the crowd was the last SOO played there .
You can call an oval a rectangle all you want .
It’s still not a rectangle .

yeah def, i do not understand some of there reasoning in regards to rectangle sports.
it matters a huge difference to the contest..
(do you know why they do not understand?? cause none have been to a rugby league game most likely
and none have been a rugby league game on a oval..
i have at the SCG
and it is pathetic viewing and angles.

All anyone is talking about in Melbourne is the AFL Finals & particularly the Carlton Collingwood game yesterday, which was amazing.
As if anyone would care about the Storm & Roosters game even though there is no footy on in Melbourne this weekend.
