AFL has definitely taken a chunk out of the wealthy Rugby fan base from the North Shore and the Eastern Suburbs.. The Islander side of fan base still like Union & League and will never get into AFL.
I would say a lot of Swans fans are the same white collar types who probably watch the Wallabies too.

Former PM Malcom Turnbull is a perfect example.
