This could be disastrous considering their current state of affairs.

130mill for 30% stake.. :0

that money will only go so far..
and with the amount of money that is being drained at the moment..
clubs are wanting more..
i can see this doing little to nothing..

May put themselves in a position where they need to sell more of their ownership.

interesting point,
A League may need extra funds into future,
and Silver Lake will push for extra % i recan.

Agree, I’m just not sure what’s in it for them.

• 'Melbourne Victory lost $9.8 million in 2024 and $7.57 million in 2023.'
• 'WS Wanderers lost $7 million in the year to June 2023 and a further $5.7 million the previous year.'
• 'The Wanderers’ losses were offset by $6.47 million worth of shareholders’ money pumped into the club over that same 24-month period.'

The Aleague is not sustainable. It's hard to see how it survives in its current format.

The future of Australia’s top-ranked professional soccer team is under a cloud with creditors attempting to wind up two companies that underpin Melbourne’s Western United A-League club.

Western United’s surge to second on the A-League ladder has been achieved despite the fact the football club has been losing money, with its financial future hinging on a long-delayed property development project about 25 kilometres west of Melbourne at Tarneit.

Gees I didn’t realise the Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers were in this much trouble financially. Both what I would’ve thought were the stronger clubs in the A-League. I have noticed their crowds have dropped off significantly in recent times though. Across the entire A-League to be fair.

As said by others, its hard to see how these kind of financial losses are sustainable.

there Averaging 8900 this season across the league (if it was not for Auckland the new franchise (which does not lose)
which has helped prop up the attendance (which is averaging close to 20k per game)

Melbourne Clubs are struggling
every club is struggling

Except Sydney FC
