Soon as the footy starts the off season sideshow ( as bad as it was ) is pushed into the background .
I'm sure news ltd will be going all out to keep it in the headlines . Lol doesn't seem to matter .
Great start ...the gold medal awaits .
maybe the extra publicity over the off-season helped :-k
If anything the publicity should have harmed the viewing audience .

It doesn't matter what happens in the off season... terrible shit like this one .
Or if we have a quiet one with very little to report ..Rl is still in the news ..news ltd will run the sky is falling in stories or blow some small incident out of all proportion .
RL fans are used to the drama .

Yeah, sure pal lolololo. How about a little, 'well done RL. Great figures'. Na!!!!! But, but but lololol.

I suspect your prediction might not last one day. A big game on tonight. Could easily top last night!!!
I said it was a great result, albeit after your post, although I didnt notice your post at the time

10 FRIDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Channel 9 436,000 255,000 20,000 145,000 6,000 9,000

11 THURSDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Nine 458,000 246,000 0 212,000 0 0

Unless fox and regionals are huge I dont think it will beat Thursday

Na, won't beat Thursday. Will be about the same as last years round 1 Friday game which is still a very good result considering the recent player outrages. And the rolling coverage of the Christchurch atrocity would have taken numbers away.

Not even close. As I said, Thursday will be the NRL's biggest H&A game, and it was higher than every game last year too.
From now on the NRL will compete with the AFL

He's running with the only negative he can find in the 1st rounds brilliant TV ratings. Which is his modus operandi.

When your mess starts next week I will be able to make the same claim about the RL states abysmal ratings. It's a lame, facile argument used when there is nothing else to talk down. Hopeless, useless, meaningless argument.
