No, Hobart does not get great crowds to AFL games and their population is just 200k. They may get similar crowds to the suns and giants but these clubs are used as expansion tools, whereas Tasmania is already an AFL area

These Tasmanians currently have 5 or so chances to watch live AFL in Hobart and dont turn out in decent numbers. These crowds are also boosted by travelling fans from both sides. Populations below 250k for a start up team isnt viable in the current climate. So this team then becomes my second team & I go because it's affordable ..no plane trips ..etc ?
Soon this team is rivalling my original team for popularity for the simple reason ..I get to see them .
