That's your stock answer when you cannot handle the truth and the truth is that RL World Cup does not quite work !

Please!!, The pre match and the Brownlow medal count are some the biggest moments in an AFL season. It's all a fallacy that Melbourne are great sports lovers, They just love the hype and fanfare, the atmosphere that's associated with sport . It gives people something to do in a very boring and small part of the world.

RL World Cup is a total embarrassment, kangaroos flogging minnow island communities, I am not impressed, and also who cares about RL nines on TV ?
Not all concepts on your RL list are winners.
Here is a more complete AFL list
Home and away round.
All Stars vs big V, popular old timers match
Ireland Vs Australia international rules football test
Pre season cup challenge ( not a fan )
Pre season woman's football Aflw, a work in progress.
AFLX no further comment !
So there you have it, I may have missed something but I am in no way implying that all of these concepts have been embraced on a popular level.
Rugby League Events and Rep games are all success stories..
WORLD CUP>> millions watched around the country and sold out stadiums in some cities.
i will give ya a few +
2million People in England watched Aus V Eng W.C final at 8am in the morning
PNG and NZ games were nearly all sold out
nines format has been a success at the ground and tv figures.
watch out as it hits AUS shores
WCC Challenge games watched by millions
All stars matches
Internationals..
yes you are right
there are only 3 Big Rugby League international sides (AUS ENG NZ)
than there is middle set of teams
than a bigger drop off
AFL has no one
your events outside H&A season have not been successful...

FAST FOOTY: WILL AFLX RETURN IN 2019?
AFLX turned heads in February with its silver footies, rectangular field and 10-point super goals. Will it be part of the schedule next year?
WILL THE AFL BRING IT BACK> OR LEAVE THE JOKE IDEA TO DIE TRULY

It looks like they're cutting it back to 4 teams to play on one day only in Melbourne. After the joke it turned out to be last year I'm not surprised. Even hard core fumbling zealots hammered the freak show and it doesn't seem to be getting any better as this sentence in the article attached shows, "It has received a warm response from clubs and players and the competition committee",
I suspect they will have one more throw of the dice in 2019 and then we'll never hear of it again. A bit like AFL in NZ.

into a GALA event>> would only ever work in melbourne..
(interesting enough.. what is happening with the NRL 9's ) for 2019 .. any idea

Can anyone tell me how much money the AFL have put into aflx? Last year? And this year?
I’m guessing it’s been quite a spend, probably well into the 7 figures or more

they’ve literally spent shitloads of moolah to be....laughed at....again
