But then a strange thing happened on the way to the forum - the actual game of AFL morphed into the ugliest mess in world sport whilst RL just got better & better.

The gulf between the comps is enormous.

The AFL would need to drop more than half its crowds.
2 thirds of its members.
A massive chunk of the broadcast deal.
And half its players
A shit load of sponsorship
And allot of class.

My nrl compadres, I think we are finally seeing some of the delusion within our AFL membership shifting. They’ve had their eyes shut for so long....but finally FINALLY, some of the smarter ones are beginning to see the light.

Let’s just hope there’ll be more to come. Be good if the leadership group here weren’t so pissweak and would actually come out of hiding to make comment on some of these issues.

Anyone with half a brain can see that TAS is AFL territory .
GWS & GC are not .
Crowds would be far better in taS than both these other areas .
Ratings would smash the home ratings for the most as well .

TOwnsville doesn't have too many problems supporting the cOwboys & it is much the same as Tasmanias two biggest cities .
What it boils down to is the AFL & the zealots will not admit that gws & GC are mistakes ...very expensive mistakes

Lol the ratings say very different .

For an AFL club to compete it needs a supporting population above 200k, which tasmania doesnt have in a single city. GC and Sydney have this and the potential is they will be more capable of supporting a team when they gain support. Of course this could take a generation but so would an increase in hobarts population
