"I've coached AFL rah rah...."
Get your hand off it mate. Unless you're outside the gym again watching the NRL boys bulk up as that apparently whet's your appetite and gives you great reason to keep it on there. Or do you and Crapper hold eachothers' whilst you're there to make it a little more special?
You have 0 understanding of the sport, something you prove every time you speak about it.
It's cute watching you all get so fired up with the need the whack AFL because you arent travelling the way you'd like to be. More and more bitter, it's beautiful.
This rounds final margains have been a bit of a stinker in particular but the way you clutch at it like its the be-all and end-all....
The inability of any of you to open your mind to the fact that the scoring system and it's reflection on the game quality is different to that of Rugby is staggering.
The dour and dull grind of Rugby needs to be close for it to be somewhere near entertaining.
You've shown that your getting a little ancy Eliagh. Been quiet from you upon my return as your little game has been playing catch up. I even saw a little jealous hissy "before the AFL got cocky and put teams in gws and gold coast when they weren't wanted" in some thread, it was a thing of beauty, I can't remember where it was though so please enlighten me.
Do yourselves a favour and actually watch the match today. Hawks v Cats the AFL's best rivalry for a decade - anything but Mundane. Could be a 300pt margain today and that wouldn't change. But it won't be.
There'll also be a peculiar amount of people their for a couple of mid-tier teams.
Are they beating us in any way yet nlol? Or do we have to wait until June?

Never realised quite how much hate there was for AFL from our Northern friends.

Supposed rivalry aside, there’s something quite special about today. The afls going for five days of shithouse lopsided matches in a row today.

I never said their entire bench you disingenuous liarKing-Eliagh wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 10:34 am
You clearly know jack diddly about bballput their bench on the court during the final quarter
teams barely ever put their entire bench on the court during the fourth. As they do in AFL they might but won’t often give one or two of their stars a break.

Higher scoring games will generally result in larger winning margins. In soccer an easy win could be 3-0. In AFL a 3 point win is a nail-biter. Use your brains KE FFS!As for your other point. Errrm you argued earlier that because AFL is high scoring then games are not as close. You’re contradicting yourself big time in ur desperate attempt to make the AFL blowouts appear ok

Furthermore, as I said, the rules of bball make blowouts less likely.
1. Possession of the ball is changed after every score.
2. The team with possession has a high chance of shooting for a goal because you cannot touch the player with the ball, and the size of the field of play is very short.
The result is essentially a difference in shooting accuracy, the ability to get position close to the key, and your ability to rebound missed shots.
In AFL:
1. the ball is in contention after every goal, you are not awarded possession just because you are scored against.
2. the player with the ball can be tackled and dispossessed more easily.
3. The length of the field means many passes must be executed in a single play, all while avoiding being tackled, in order to shoot at goal.
This means a more skillful team can get on a scoring roll far more easily than basketball.
It's a sport where performances on the day can result in very one-sided games, even when the teams are fairly closely matchedThen you compared AFL scoring with cricket!!!

if we had games where teams didnt even score, or there were only a few scores in 80 minutes, we'd be worriedAFLcrap1 wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 5:39 pmNope not at all ..the occasional thrashing happens .

Number of one-sided gamesin the last 5 rounds:
AFL: (more than 5 goal difference)
rnd 1: 5
rnd2: 3
rnd3: 1
rnd4: 1
rnd5: 6
TOTAL = 16 from 45 games
NRL:
rnd 2: 6
rnd 3: 5
rnd 4: 3
rnd 5: 3
rnd 6: 3
TOTAL = 20 from 40 games
Yep, AFL is far more one-sided

Basketball is faster and generally higher scoring than AFL and you don’t see the type of blowouts the AFL regularly produces in the nbl.
