Melbournians it is not AFL where you cheer as one every few mins as a goal is kicked.

Re: State Of Origin 1!
Last night's State of Origin was the most watched event on TV in 2018 so far, with an average national audience of 3.456m (5 City: 2.353m / Regional: 1.103m).
Spare a thought for the AFL, there ratings already down 20% and now having to deal with this. Not to mention, if bullshiting was a hanging offence there would be quite a few AFL officials making out there last wills & testaments

Lol you're carrying on like the ratings were a shock to the AFL. Im sure they knew the SOO would rate this or higher.pussycat wrote: Thu Jun 07, 2018 12:54 pmLast night's State of Origin was the most watched event on TV in 2018 so far, with an average national audience of 3.456m (5 City: 2.353m / Regional: 1.103m).

Was the game boring? These ratings seem a bit soft compared to previous years

Origin ratings depend on a lot of things, deciders usually rate the highest..

Re: State Of Origin 1!
Whilst a fairly decent game I will admit the game was missing intensity and the appropriate level of violence which is a shame for the melb viewers.
I suspect these will pickup during game two and especially game three if it goes to a decider.
Well done to all those melbournites who love our game enough to get out and attend on a cold wintry night in Grey old wet and dismal Melbourne town.

I agree on the intensity>> NSW didn't show enough, I expect this to double at home in Sydney>>
yes great effort from the Mexicans
87,122 crowd
366K Metro (regional figures unknown in Victoria)
(that 87,122 crowd will be more than GWS will pull all season lol
