12,000 to watch the Lions play on the weekend...
I thought the game was sold out??
NRL game last year got 21,000....
Please AFL bring a team into the Gold Coast and sink in millions of bucks on this hopeless cause...( move one of the long standing Melbourne teams to piss off as many fans down there as possible

..)...
AFL on the Gold Coast

Why??
Adelaide is a wasteland full of serial killers and Perth prefer to watch the exciting Super 14's

( roll on next February for the Western farce fans hey??

)

Beaussie's belief in the popularity of AFL in Sydney and the Gold Coast is partly flawed. He is not factoring in that these fans will only show up if the team is performing creditably!
12 000 is a bad figure for Saturday night's game and does indicate Qlders still favour League as their game of choice!
Sad for me to admit, but true nonetheless!!

I think Beassie should start another thread on BigFooty suggesting that the Kangaroos move to the Gold Coast....
It looks like that one has been put to bed for a while Bea??
And come next year with all the excitement for the Gold Coast Titans...

Yes, that's more reason to bring NRL to Adelaide....because it is full of serial killers that means NRL players will vanish without a trace!

So 12,000 for an AFL game on the Gold Coast (despite expensive tickets, bottom of the ladder team and live coverage on tv) is bad and as such the area doesn't deserve it's own team, yet 10,000 in Melbourne for a top of the table NRL clash involving the local team is ok?
By that logic the Melbourne Storm ought to be wound up a.s.a.p.
Would you also agree with that assessment Willis?

Melbourne Storm are a long term investment ( like the Swans were..), currently being funded by News Ltd ( although the NRL makes them more than enough money to pay for this...)
Also Bea, can you see the difference between a team playing every 2 weeks as opposed to 2 competition games being played in an area during the last 10 years??
