Re: why the NRL need to start increasing crowds
Gotta love Terry's logic. Basically he thinks the NRL are in better shape if TV revenue stalls because they have less national expansion so more room to grow. Thats like me saying the AFL are in better shape than RL internationally because we havent expanded overseas so we have more room to grow.
What a numbskull

Re: why the NRL need to start increasing crowds
the oxygen bottles were dribbling out the same line 3 or 4 years ago after the NRLOL got their big broadcast deal and made a 50 odd million dollar profit! & acturarly had money in the bank then!
now they havent gone anywhere except really backwards
no expansion, ratings dropped, crowds dropped, clubs loosing money, the league has spent its so called "war chest" that they were going to over take the AFL with!
this year they received a 50 million dollar advancement on their new broadcast deal & been rejected for bank loans twice to pay operationational costs
the NRLOL's credit rating is fucked :>::

Thanks Wookie. You are indeed a passionate advocate of your chosen past time. I was merely pointing out the incontrovertible fact that RL has more room for improvement than AFL. If they take advantage of that or not will be seen over the next 5 years.

Re: why the NRL need to start increasing crowds
I think the AFL has plenty of room for improvement in AFL in particular another Sydney team will come in the next 30 to 50 years. Another team in wa would be easily achieved if they wanted to and a team in tassie.

Re: why the NRL need to start increasing crowds
The nrlol probably does have more room to grow as it trails the AFL in every area by decades (except fudging figures the nrlll is unbeatable at that)Terry wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2017 10:07 amThanks Wookie. this 5 year thing you speak of didn't that start around 3 years ago when the bean counter David smith was in charge of the nrlol and it was going to overtake the AFL?
Well 2 years to get that to happen

Sookie, why get rid of LIC new thread? I mean I know some of his threads are ridiculous, but that one was valid.The_Wookie wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2017 9:55 am2014 - Raiders crowds were said to have been exaggerated. Quotes Andrew Barr.AFLcrap1 wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2017 8:26 amCome on

Terry's post is spot on . You fumbler's are too stupid or pig headed to see it. Most likely both! The AFL has none or very little growth room in Australia. And as for expansion overseas

1.. He's a politician
2 he's a mad AFL fan..
Lol just read what he said
No proof ...nothing
His words
I THINK .
Lol
So that's a no .
No proof that crowds have been fudged since the ARLC took over .
Stop living in the past LIC
"I think they're actually more honest figures, I think the crowd figures have been inflated in previous years, often by 2000,'' Barr said.
"If you were to go back and look at what the actual numbers were before the inflation of numbers, it wouldn't reflect as much of a downward trend that people might think.
"Undoubtedly weather has been a major factor, as is who the local teams are playing against."
Raiders chief executive Don Furner said the discrepancy was more likely to be in the hundreds because of changes to how members and NRL junior pass holders were accounted for stemming from upgrades to the ticketing system at Canberra Stadium.
"In years gone by, the scanners didn't pick up the junior passes and the members are a sold seat, so there used to be a factor but no way [was it 2000],'' Furner said.
