Membership ? Revenue? Expenditure ? Grassroots ? National presence at grass roots? Women's AFL ? Junior numbers growing? Expansion into non heartland areas ?

I would think it would the the opposite ... rl holds it head up on ratings ... the arguement as to who is doing better will go on forever given the nuances in the debate. Soo and rep gsmes great for rl but that's about it really ?

Our revenue for the last 4 years has exceeded your revenue for the last 5. Rugby League is the most watched sport . We look after our grass roots and your loan repayments are a great expenditure :(/ and according to Eddy Mcguire your women are playing for nothing.

The most watched sport in Australia ...... Is that not a national presence? What about international presence ?
?? shall we go there? What about all those juniors from around the world that end up playing NRL. But but Australia, Australia, its got to be Australia

I will give you a better international presence.

TV - the game's rating are abysmal outside heartland. Okay for Melbourne but nothing great. Not saying AFL's is much better.

Are you sure the NRL revenue is more than AFL revenue?

Grassroots have been complaining for ages in rl. The whole issue recently re: wanting to sack some guy was because he wanted to go back on a deal re: 130 percent of cap or something top clubs as it was identified money needed to go into grassroots that was declining at a great rate.

AFLW in first year. Hugh national coverage and decent ratings. I think the standard is pretty low at the moment - but it is a growth thing. Still leads the NRL in this regard.

Most watched sport re: cumulative - I'll let you and NROL slog that one out - anyway I said your ratings are okay.

So apart from Representative football and international presence - where do you see RL smashing AFL? Or that all AFL has is crowds? Which you seem to underrate for some reason. We also regularly win Friday night football - just thought I would throw that in.

When you can go almost anywhere in this country and play aussie rules - suggests a national presence - particularly when you throw in all the other markers.

I don't care what you'll give me. Your a struggling joke of a game that most people couldn't give a shit about.

The NRL accumulates more ratings (in Australia) every single year, as well as providing 4 of the 5 top rating matches.

What I said was the NRL revenue has been greater than AFL's in recent years! as has been there profit.

our grass roots are complaining, our players are complaining, the cricketers are complaining, the politicians are complaining , who isn't complaining about what they get? doesn't mean there not getting enough. I bet your AFL woman's comp , who play for nothing wouldn't be so quick to agree with you. If there not getting enough i'm sure it will be looked at.

Our Women are well sponsored and well paid! They compete not only Nationally but also on the world stage.

AFL = Crowds, memberships and large helping of bullshit and silver medals.

You sure the NRL get more revenue than the AFL ? Can someone like Wookie clarify this?

I think I pointed out that your own commissioner highlighted the need to put more money into grassroots as it was suffering.

AFLW was a tremendous success - what does the NRL do that comes close? So winning there.

AFL - Crowds, membership (I will still say revenue), I would also say ratings in most areas, national presence, growth in grass roots, expansion in non heartland areas, can be played across the country almost anywhere, growing in expansion markets at junior levels, girls/womens growth huge all wins for AFL.

RL have clear leads in international presence and rep games. Ratings are good but up there with AFL and winning in some areas... hardly smashing.

Haven't heard from Wookie all week??????????? Was interested to see the ratings from last week after some very low numbers for the fumbling game.

As for this thread: Saturday night FTA is sure of one thing - it will rate higher than if it was on Fox only. How much higher is the question.
