To be fair parra, I cant knock a organisation for giving it a go. like I said when props are due I will give them and the wolfpack deserves it, so all the best to them.

But RL being most similar to NFL? :-k . I guess the similarities are being able to pass the footy forward, stop start nature of the game, the time outs, the interchange between defence and offence, the game being played in quarters, the strategy in each play, the size of the field, the padding? yup that must be it! so so similar ](*,)
Well tell me a code closer to Grid Iron than league?

Are the only two codes that restart a play when a tackle is completed.
AFL - when a player is tackled and the ball cant be recycled the play restarts. your :)))
Do actually call that a tackle? More like a come from behind waste grab lol :(/

Saying that, Rugby has seen the light and invented a better form of the game. Rugby7s.

I wouldnt call that a tackle either but the point wasn't about the type of tackle it was the fact there is another sport that restarts when a tackle is complete.

Seen the light? 😂. Rugby sevens has been around since 1880, it's not something new sunshine. Its used as more of a development tool now by most nations and helps with fitness and game offence. It's still dwarfed by the 15 a side version. Just look at the attendance numbers for the 2015 World Cup

Yeah the world cup Rugby does well, but the local super rugby in Australia gets alot less attention than 7s with the younger generation.

based on what figures? there is only one 7's tournament held here in Australia and that's it. There are no rugby clubs that specifically focus on 7's. The only time clubs play 7's is when its part of pre-season. So how is it getting more attention when there isn't a 7's club competition here or anywhere around the world apart from the circuit.

Big airline sponsorship done, all teams payed for with accommodation, team assembled, season tickets around 5k already.

Things are looking good for Toronto. Oh and Florida wants a team in League 1 now.

Will be interesting to see what sort of crowds they can get closer to the finals if all goes well. They have already cracked 7,000 recently.

What's happened to the USA pro Rugby comp? Last I heard they have closed down after 1 season.

It's was a poorly run competition with the owner apparently still owing money. Major league rugby is the latest pro comp starting 2018 with 9 teams confirmed so far. Difference is these are already establish clubs that have been around for years.

Only time will tell how this works out but all the best too them.

Another Wolfpack home game soon. Funny how the AFL lot have all gone so quiet about this after knocking it for so long.

I never knocked. The fact they are getting crowds similar to some nrl games in Sydney shows that it is doing okay.

Of course AFL care about not being international. This is why they keep playing games in countries like China and New Zealand where nobody cares about their sport.

And look now, Toronto Wolfpack have just contracted two players from St George Dragons.
Josh McCrone & now Kalifa Faifai.

Meanwhile AFL can't even get a propper team together outside Australia.

While here we have a completely foreign nation to Australian sports setting up a professional rugby league side buying first grade NRL players.

Toronto is buying a lot of Australian NRL player though. So it is linked in some ways.
