Like any business an AFL or nrl club is going to seek revenue and new ways to get it.

Essendon made a losss, they aren't getting hand outs from it any where, as they will cover the loss.

You mock gws and gcs for receiving extra money from the AFL, then justify nearly all the nrlol clubs getting extra money from their leagues clubs and owners because they can't raise $10 million on their own!
Then you go a mental rant having a go about it then throw insults!

The irony in your stupidity as you clearly have NFI
Leagues clubs exist for the purpose of supporting the local and national rugby league clubs, you idiot. Its almost the entire reason they were created the way they are. Hell some of them are so integrated they report the club revenue in the leagues club reports. And then theres the leagues clubs that are non existent....

yes there are some ponts to be made about some revenues when compared to AFL clubs - membership and gate revenues are likely to be smaller due to smaller attendances and less history, than an AFL club, but the league club issue is not one of those things in question.

The irony is you calling people out for stupidity when you carry on like a fuckwit about stuff you clearly know nothing about. Did you ever find the Melbourne Storm leagues club you invented?
lol that is the biggest myth of all time leagues club supporting local communities!
the councils stil looks after the grounds so its the rate payers of the area, children and parents are still forced to pay game day fees & pay for insurences

look at the total football revenue raised and earned by an AFL club over an NRLOL club, how big a factor will history play? many of the nrl teams are 60 plus years old ? even the AFL new clubs GWS and GCS earn similar money through football related earning that most NRL clubs.

the NRL clubs receive half their money to run their football department from the NRL commission most still struggle to raise the other 10 million to run the department!

regardless of how long the team has been around for a code that & code that pumps it self up as popular and professional at it does surely 10 million would not be a problem for the clubs to raise

Looks like Essendon is in the same position as the struggling Brisbane Lions who are in debt 13 million.
Is a huge contrast to Cronulla Sharks who pleaded guilty early when investigated by asada and took the penalty. I am pretty sure they recorded an operating profit for the first time in years.
I guess it pays not to mess with asada.

So whats Paramatta's excuse when they were'nt fighting ASADA and list 11 million? Looks like pot meet kettle.

cheating the cap and paying players at other clubs and competitions from years past to honour said contracts you dope. Ricky Stuart more or less gave away half our bloody team just before he bailed to Canberra, well not before he managed to get a player or two to follow which Parramatta are still paying for.

There are reasons, and the cap is the main one, plus the dorks running the joint dont care, they just see the leagues club as a open bank cheque.
