here we go again.
lol and leagues finest didn't make the grade in wooden spoon winning sides.

catching a rubber ball from a 5 meter pass then running with it under your arm, then throwing it left or right 5 meters, is just pure skill :(/ :(/

a toddler can do that
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

You realise the international rules isnt actually aussie rules right? :(/
Oh ok......is that why you fumblers get smashed by them.....lololololololol. Bit embarrasing getting belted by amateurs whatever it is though. More excuses from the fumbling community.....why can't this mob just take it on the chin occasionally.

We're up too 40 excuses why RL belted the fumblers by 8 million+ this year and now we're onto excuses for the annual flogging by the amateur Irish Bog farmers lolololololoollol.
It's not Aussie rules, not even close. It far more closely resembles the Irish game which is why theyre good at it. No excuses for our 4 gold, why would there be?
Hilarious stuff lololololololol. The two bodies come to an agreement about rules that come from both games but the fumblers still get absolutely smashed.......and now cue the excuses lololololololol

And you just can't hand yaself gold medals pal lolololololol. It's RL for aggregate ratings - GOLD. Fumbleball for GF - SILVER. RL for SOO 1 BRONZE, RL for GF - 4th. RL for SOO 2 & 3 - 5th and 6th. You get the drift pal.....lolololololol.

thats the point, the rules are almost entirely gaelic football. Change one simple thing, use an oval ball, and the competition would be so lop-sided it wouldnt be worth playing.

The other issue is, it isnt anywhere near the AFL's best, far from it. They pick a side they think believe will be suited to gaelic football.

On to ratings, since here you actually seem to be discussing it, the AFL won just about every one on one comparison for the season. If RL is more popular why how did that happen. Try to respond to this point rather than rabbiting on about woolworths for a change

Alrighty i know this is a touchy subject with you AFL lads, what with the evidence of a junior no marngrook experience RL team thrashing a junior experienced AFL team at marngrook but thats just how it is.

I know. :o

And yes, I understand the bog farmers and bakers in Ireland come together to give you guys a whoopin at a hybrid game year in and year out hurts.

I understand. :afro:

I empathise with you poor bastards that two RL players with no experience dominated your feeder leagues like the NEAFL and then made the cut above potential AFL draftees who had been playing marngrook their whole lives...

I empathise... :(/ i mean :?

But lets move on shall we :) So to soften things up a bit for you poor AFL bastards in this thread lemme pose another hypothetical. What if...shock horror... they played it on a rectangle field!!!   :(/ I mean that's one of the main reason the irish amateurs win right? :_<>

So lets fix it up a bit and make it a hybrid game. The game is played on a rectangle field and players are allowed to tackle round the legs and shoulders and its played over 4 17 minute quarters...

I reckon the Maroons would shit it in maybe even more dominantly than the irish amateurs god bless em :_<>

Hope that softens it up a bit for you AFL lads. Now comon in and join in the debate now. Add some evidence if you please :)

If tackling was allowed
The game would be over n 20 mins
The fumblers would not be able to field a team as most would be on their way to hospital

You ever wondered why International Rules doesnt use an Oval ball. Or an Oval. Use an oval ball and the irish would get flogged.
I actually think the hybrid game is a much more skillfull and attractive game than the fumbling one. They have a soccer like goal and goalie. You get more points for kicking into the net than over it and you don't get a point for missing. The oval ball gives the game more continuity as clearly the fumblers can't catch the oval one - I mean look at last weeks GF - what a mess of a spectacle. The fumble count would have been a record if anyone had the time and about 50 assistants to count them all lololololooloolol.

I say bring in the round ball to the Fumbling Football League and one day they might be able to take the fumble out of fumbleball lolololololololololol.

In RL your players rarely pass, and if they do it's almost always to someone nearby without a direct opponent to pressure the pass or receive. You're also not penalised for being caught with the ball, therefore there's no rule that insists you pass it like in Aussie Rules. Ball skills in RL are just so basic

Pathetic response lolololololo. Fumbleball was actually invented to keep cricketers fit during their off season. Every part of the game was dumbed down to make it easier on the precious little cricketers. Any physicality was taken out. Speed was taken out. Skill was not needed. It was invented as a little runaround for off season cricketers - simple and easy to play.

The Rugby codes on the other hand were made purely for the top athletes of the day. They run at top speed. The physicality is brutal. The skill needed is immense. No comparison really. Fumbleball was invented for the non athlete - end of story.

I'd love to know how the reason a game is invented has anything to do with it's difficulty, especially when the game was invented well over 100 years ago and has evolved significantly in that time. What an utterly daft comment.

RL has some speed, every now and then, but most is just ambling along at jogging pace. It certainly is very physical, which is great if that's your 'thing', but well behind most sports in coordination and ball handling. Anyone can catch a 10 metre throw under no pressure, which is about the extent of RL ball skills

You're on a hiding to nothing here pal lolololololol. Why the game was invented has everything to do with it. The fumbling game was invented as a lark for off season cricketers. It was made to be easy, simple and non demanding to play. And nothing has changed since that drunken bum Wills sat down with a few of his drunken cricket mates and invented this little run around in the park.

This will go down as one of the silliest claims on this site. Well done Terry :(/ :(/

everyone is aware what the game was invented for. I'm sure none of them could ever imagine it would grow to be Australia's number one sport. Originally the game was very static with not much running at all, just kicking from position to position. It evolved over time into the fast-paced game it is today, which is a far cry from what it was in the 19th century.
