What's the big deal? Swans always said events would only occur if they won. A Swans fan function was held at Crown casino on the night of the grand final. Whilst I was in Melbourne, I had no interest in attending. Many other deflated Swans fans would have no doubt felt the same.

Oh and BTW, where were the Melbourne Storm fan functions in Sydney and Melbourne after the grand final?

Oh FFS, so the Storm did the same as the Swans with a fan event at Crown, but somehow only the Swans are "weak as piss, dummy spitting"? You're truly fucked in the head. :?>

Yeah Bea it seems only those fans of other codes and clubs seem to be upset - they did same in 06 and 14. No one wants to sit around crying I for one wasn't interested in having a wake. This is not an issue ask ANY Swans fan!!!

Stop talking shit. You don't know what you're talking about. The Swans held an after grand final fan event at Crown casino on Saturday evening dumb arse. I know Swans fans who went along. Me, despite being in town, not interested after disappointment of the day. Again how is that any different to what Storm did? Fuck you're dumb.

Lol Bea . Why did you omit the highlighted bit
You fumblers love to conveniently leave out parts that show how full of shit you are .

A paid for dinner is not a fan day where hundreds if not thousands can meet the players .

Lol
Isn't it funny . Only people defending their actions in this thread are the two swans fans .
Rl & AFL fans both think it stinks what they did

The club must love braindead twits like you pair .

THE Sydney Swans have defended their decision to cancel fan days, saying the events were only going to proceed if the club won the grand final.

Swans fans flocked to social media to slam the decision to axe the supporter events in Melbourne and Sydney, declaring it bad sportsmanship.

“To cancel the events and go home because you didn’t win, is that the message you want to give to your fans? Because, if so, I will help my daughters choose a team with better morals than this.

Shameful, pull your socks up and stop being such sore losers,” one fan posted on Facebook.

PATRICK DANGERFIELD: BULLDOGS DID IT THEIR WAY

“Very disappointing on behalf of the club,” another fan posted.

“It does not teach our young fans to lose with any semblance of sportsmanship. Need to re-evaluate your ethics here, boys.”

When the Swans lost the 2014 grand final to Hawthorn, the fan days in Melbourne and Sydney still went ahead.

But football manager Tom Harley said this year the Swans had made their plans known from the outset.

“It was always the plan to not have the fan day if we lost,” Harley said.

“We had the dinner after the game in Melbourne and there is also the club championship this week on Thursday night.

“It’s a celebration if you win and not so much if you lose, that was the reason behind that.”

The dinner in Melbourne after the match and Thursday night’s Bob Skilton Medal presentation are paid-for events, while the fan days are free and staged during child-friendly hours.

As a swans fan I think its pretty piss poor really.

I think its reflective of the swans attitude in general. They simply don't have a "never say die" attitude and they showed this in their GF against hawthorne a few years ago and again against westernbulldogs.

It's disappointing the young children don't get a chance to celebrate the season.

Not good enough swans :/;
