AFL fans have clearly said they hate ANZ Stadium. Many league fans say the same. You can have the 70,000 soulless empty seats stadium. It's not like you lot can ever regularly fill it. Enjoy lol
If the AFL had its time again they would not have given up the 83k venue to the NRL.
Now the NRL will have a world class 75k venue with a roof and a permanent rectangle.
Also the steepest stands in the country.
As Gerard whateley said on offsiders after the announcement.

Looks like a gws sydney final and a final in sydney thr second week gaurenteed. AFL house will be wrapped.

It will be interesting if the AFL get more to their final than a sydney nrl final. Where thr AFL need to improve though is ratings.

Err.....no contractual obligations forced us to use it THIS year - the AFL worked out a compromise in the event of Sydney v GWS final it would be used - has more to do with a contract than what the parties wanted - as far as future is concerned who cares I prefer SCG it has atmospher - if it's so good why are they reducing capacity of a stadium only 16 yrs old by 11k. Answer is simple it's a shit stadium and there is no need for that capacity says more about the other codes than it does AFL!

You see the state government knows AFL is not really popular in Sydneys West. Hence the rectangular sports stadium upgrade to an oval stadium.

And that's why the NSW Premier was on to tonight asking if it is a Swans v Giants GF then why isn't it played in Sydney - I guess it's all about perspective really you don't like the game so from your perspective you'd like to see all the AFL posts pulled down and people forced to play RL at gun point - me I'm happy with diversity and am happy to have Melb Storm and for them to bring in Western Reds and Adelaide RAMS again doesn't take a thing away from AFL.
