Ffs you dribbling drongo the NSWRL has been expanding since 1967 into what it is today. The NSWRL has always been expanding and bringing in new teams or replacing teams that were not getting anywhere in the earlier years. The point is that even as late as 1967 Sydney was still adding clubs in Cronulla and Penrith, that's only 14 years before Canberra and Illawarra kicked off their clubs in the expanded league, that's 15 years before the swans had moved permanently to Sydney.

Do I really have to tell the story of my history growing up and knowing about all the sports like most people in NSW and QLD have and continued to do to this day? We had a match of the round on TV since I remember TV from Vic as a child, it's how we all knew Collingwood and back then Carlton were the big clubs, they were on TV once a week, well one team or the other and always their derbies.

All the VFL expansion/VFA takeovers/whatever all occurred before the last world war. In that time, the youngest sporting league in the nation (rugby league) was still setting itself up and still is to this day whereas your sport was played from one end to the other and from one side of the continent to the other side from Tasmania in the deep south to the tropics of Northern Australia, West Australia as far as Perth and all the way back across the continent to Sydney Naa even further East into New Zealand in actual fact.

The real truth is, yes VFL/AFL has grown everything in its game bar one thing, and that thing is massive when you look at it, they have lost ground and a lot of ground from New Zealand all the way more or less to the Victorian border in 108 years, maybe some truth once in a while is a good thing huh? Meh, that's only a measly 15,000,000 people.
