Fred wrote:I don't think that is correct AFL crap. You said tomorrow night would dwarf any AFL crowd in Sydney. I am pretty sure there have been bigger AFL crowds than the 52000 expected if sell out. Maybe you should have said 'this year'
It is interesting though ... Rl when played in certain conditions ... Soo, gf etc cam pull a reasonable crowd but home and away struggles. It is a serious question I ask as it has generally been argued that the reason for poor crowds is that rl is a better experience when watched on TV... However the best games such as soo and gf draw big crowds ... Whereas you would think of it was best enjoyed on TV most would stay home and get the best experience. Now of course you can't beat the atmosphere of a big g crowd so the question is how do the nrl get people to turn up to home and away games as well?
What the hell are you smoking Fred
He said fumble crowd in Sydney, ie ANZ. ANZ 83500 capacity.
The crowd will be about 80k give or take which will be larger then any AFL crowd in sydney.

I stand corrected on the crowd size. For some reason i thought capacity was 52000 tomorrow.
Still think my second paragraph raises an interesting point ?

Yeah so let's see - 85,000 tonight roughly equates to every NRL fan that would have attended their club games on the weekend - way to go you got them all in the same place - yawn!

just went straight onto ticketek and requested 10 tickets to tonights SOO. No problems, all 10 within the same row.
How can this be Australia's biggest sporting event when there are tickets easily available at only $45?

And only..........wait there hasn't been any bigger NRL club games this year or even 70k or 60k or 55k. Yet AFL has had 1 85k, 1 over 75k, 2 over 70k, 2 over 60k, 3 over 55k, 5 over 50k and at least 6 over 45k.
RL 1 crowd over 50k 1 crowd over 45k, 1 crowd over 40k and the highest crowd was a double header all Beisbane! Says it all!

While close it wasn't the most exciting game .
Very defence orientated .
I think game 2 will be more open & the QLD figures should be larger
