Yeah AFL is too crap as sport to be taken seriously by anyone else.

See you know AFL can never gain international respect.
And like I said in another post even Grid Iron is big in Canada not just America.
Having a club that has a 100 year history in Melbourne which the Storm never had in Sydney helps. Plus they have had a 16 year head start on the Storm in Sydney as well.
And they are at the top of their game.
Their crowds won't stay at that level when they have a bad on field year.
The fact the Swans are shown on data channel 7mate and not 7 proves they are not as big a club as you think with the main population of Sydney.
If Sydney were crazy about your Swans. Would'nt they be shown on 7.
Tell me why no Swans match is shown on 7 and always 7mate in Sydney if they are so popular?
Repeats of home shows are getting preference lol..

Im not saying Sydney are crazy about the Swans, Im comparing their crowds to the local heartland game. The fact they average far more than any NRL club in Sydney is staggering, and a 16 year head start doesnt explain it. Surely if traffic, or poor attendance culture in Sydney is a reason for poor crowds then the Swans would get the same problems with crowds. Compare them to the Storm who average less than any AFL club in melbourne.
The swans dont average much on Tv because AFL has a modest following in Sydney. Yet going by last nights 4k ratings for the NRL in Melbourne, the NRL has far far less following outside NSW and QLD

Oh now AFL has a modest following in Sydney? I thought everything about the Swans and AFL was number 1 in Sydney.
Talking out of your arse as usual I bet. Show me a figure where Ch9 has gotten 4k in Melbourne?
AFL has teams in more places than Rugby League in Australia and yet still we are consistently competive with AFL.
Origin is between just two states and it is in the top bracket of most watched shows.
Then the NRL does'nt even have teams in SA or WA and yet still it's grand final smashed AFLs twice in a row.
Can you imagine if NRL had teams in WA and SA what the figures would be.
AFL has all the advatages and still gets beaten by total Australian ratings peak.
NRL 4.4 MILLION
AFL 3.9 MILLION.
What's even funnier is AFLs ANZAC test got relegated to 7mate in NSW and QLD due to such poor figures on 7 last year.

no one has ever said AFL is as popular as NRL in Sydney. What people have said is the Swans are the most popular club based on memberships, sponsorship and attendances. Even the giants outdrew the NRL in Sydney yesterday LOL
The GF comparison is basically dictated by who plays and how close the games is. Thats why the figures vary so much. The highest of any total was the AFLs Syd v WCE GF which rated about 4.5m average (even more for peak) because it was very close and involved 2 cities with neither having won a GF for many years.
As for AFL on seven mate, well the NRL is on gem and got 4k in Melbourne on Friday. Yes, 4k! Meanwhile the AFL rated over 10 times this

Lol soccer at Adelaide oval. Crowd so far away from the action. Why play there?
Listen to these European wannabes trying to create the same atmosphere. Here's a tip guys, the idea behind a loud soccer chant includes quality on the pitch too
