Great Competition

Good Atmosphere, different style of play.

Not as good as the NRL

but great to know that our "Mother country" plays the same game we do..

AFL in NSW or Qld is still yet to get a crowd even close to the 91,000 Rugby Leagues State of Origin did in Melbourne.

Sure the Homebush is not as big, but AFL has no crowd near that with Sydneys Olympic stadium games.

they got over 70k for a home and away game........

Melbourne is the sporting capital of Australia. Sports fans will turn out to any major event in higher numbers than any other Australian city. Love Melbourne

I never said it was as big as SOO, I was answering a claim that the AFL havent got near that size in Sydney. It isnt 90k but its a bloody good crowd for home and away

They had that massive crowd when the Swans and Collingwood were in both the top few on the ladder so it was more about the anticipation of a great match between two big clubs. In reality they have maintained their crowd average despite not having the standout crowd, which is pretty positive

But you're comparing a crowd from 13 yrs ago to a crowd from last season .
I wouldn't gloat about that 70 k . Because they get no where near of these days .

He never mentioned last year. He said

. Well I would suggest 70k isnt too far away. If we played our biggest game of the year at ANZ we'd sell it out every year

The swans might not get the same peak crowds, which was definitely helped by collingwood supporters, but their similar average suggests they get more consistently healthy crowds

And you're comparing a state v state rep game to an AFL home and away game.
Not our fault that our game has many levels .
Do some levels impact on others . Yes
Do we care .
No

We can follow our club
Our state
Our national team .

you can, but you rep games are a very small part of RL in Australia. The majority is the local national (lol) league which is a minnow
