My team either makes money off their own bat or they lose a couple hundred thousand at the most, they don't have a coke-cola like the AFL clubs, we manage to stand or fall on our own two feet. So far my club has never had to be bailed out of anything, can't say the same for probably most other sports clubs in the country.

They have out rated them for years even while during this latest decade of deliverance (need to stick strong). More people around the world have heard of Parramatta over Collingwood esp sports fans seeing as one code plays exclusively in Aus and rarely even heads to the Northern States while every NRL club and esp the older ones have been known in various countries for decades.

It may surprise some of our vichead family but outside your AFL bubble, people actually follow and look at all sorts of sports and teams.

You seem to think the size of someones home stadium has something to do with popularity. LOL.

We will never know who is the most supported clubs in Australia, we can have an idea but there simply isn't anyway to measure it bar asking every single person.

Broncos, Collingwood, Parramatta, St George, Bulldogs, Essendon, Hawthorne, Richmond, Souths Sydney. They'd be all up there, you can't just look at memberships and crowds. My team is stuck in a small stadium and have on a few times averaged more than the capacity and since memberships have started in the NRL 5 or so years ago my team and teams like the NRL ones mentioned above have all gone through the roof and in some cases more members than the cap of the ground/s they play in. Facebook has massive numbers for NRL teams over AFL, does it prove those teams are more popular? No, but it shows there are other ways of measuring fanbases. Twitter has more followers for AFL over nrl, doesn't mean much. AFL beats NRL in crowds yet every week on Pay TV and FTA TV the NRL games average higher than the AFL.

i was pointing out earlier that the teams in the NRL are also known in other places that play RL outside of Australia which is an advantage to the NRL.

Who knows.

Is only because they are winning matches. Brisbane lions were like that at one stage and look now.
