WTF drugs are you smoking - AFL in Victoria, SA and WA regularly gets more viewers on TV than are at the game - for RL this would be easy because 8k (recent west tigers game and for the Sea Eagles game (f**ken both RL Heartland and traditional clubs!)) isn't a lot to get but for a real club like, Collingwood, Geelong, Essendon, Carlton etc where 30k + is the norm this is a lot harder-hahaha you so funny!

But that wasn't the point you were making and as the AFL doesn't play SOO how is it relevant - besides which I am first to agree SOO is an event but are you now saying this is RL's main event??? That your club H & A comp is no longer the main event??? I suppose if the NRL GF was held in Melb (which I don't think will happen but there is talk down here) you of course would expect a crowd in the 90's - if the AFL GF was held in Sydney you would expect 83 at least as it is an event - not a regular H & A game. So let me ask this how many H & A games have the storm played this year that have got 91k or 87 k, heck how about 28k (Swans home ground average this year)????? No not even close the Storm average just 14k half the Swans so again what point are you really making??? That by virtue of 1 game where the best of NSW is against QLD where you play once every 5 years if lucky that this is somehow proof that RL is now the dominant sport. Well your argument falls well short!!!

The point i'm making, the one that your too Blind to see, is that The AFL has been outdrawn in its own homeland this year by the Rugby League and the Cricket (Soccer also?) Its ratings have also been overshadowed by a league match. Say what you like about the storm but there numbers this year have been up - AFL has been down - down - down . So which code become boring?

There surely cannot be a more repetitive 1 dimensional game on the planet than rugby league.

The commentary in AFL is boring too, as well as no cheerleaders, no sprints to the line. No hard tackles. Is shit. All AFL culture does is make me feel embarrassed for Australians.
The Manly Sea Eagles always get priority over the Swans when playing at the same time on screens at pubs I go to.
Why, because people find the Sea Eagles and Rugby League more exciting to watch.
really? I wonder why the AFL draw, on average, double the crowds?

>
The Swans TV audience would be less than half that of the Sea Eagles in NSW. They are'nt even shown on Ch 7. 7mate lol
And like I have said before, if AFL was that good.. other nations would actually play and watch your sport. Just does not seem to happen for you lot does it??
Not even NZ after a 100 plus years of AFL history. Hmm wonder why. =D> Could be because AFL is boring to other countries

again, if the AFL is a boring game, and the NRL more exciting, why does the AFL draw well over double the crowds of the NRL?
Double the crowds is not all the time. State of Origin got 91,000 in Melbourne. When last did an AFL game get a crowd like that in a Rugby League state??
If AFL is so exciting, why does no other nation play or like it? Even Grid Iron has a passionate following in Canada too.

There can't be any other sport but league where so much of the game is spent by the players just going through the motions, tackle fall down repeat.

SOO is your iggest event, yet still cant beat the AFL GF. What about last night. 2 of Sydneys bigger NRL clubs only drew 14k while the Swans drew 37. Bother games were in Sydney. If the NRL is more exciting where are the fans?
Ive already addressed why the AFL isnt played overseas

I'm not surprised people won't get off the couch to get to a game, fat blokes falling on top of each other while playing a slow motion game of keepings off in front of row after row of empty seats is not the sort of draw card to get the masses motivated.

Then why didn't you say that - firstly as has been pointed out to you numerous times the GF will eclipse it. 2nd there has been 3 games in mid to high 80's, 2 games in the mid 70's, 2 games in the mid to high 60's and 5 games in the 50's! I think AFL will be just fine - attendance for AFL is up and so are ratings so again your trying to turn a single event into a sign of impending doom! It ain't but I would be more worried about NRL H& A crowds being their lowest since 2004. But by all means gloat about a one off event that had no direct competitor on the night (Wednesday mid week!) both in terms of an event to attend or on TV. By all means keep telling yourself this is a sign that RL is now number one in Melb, blind yourself to the obvious!

Again with TV - that's the only argument you've got - but tell me this how many are actually fans of the teams playing??? Do they watch the whole game or just a half, is it on in the background - TV doesn't mean that there is legitimate interest after all home and away has been on TV for years!

This is comming from someone that folows a game that is king of stupidity. Catch the ball in the goal area and you get a free shot at goal where you get a point if you miss.
AFL the only game in the world that rewards poor skill. =D> =D>
