The Lions are a disgrace. They wont win a game this season & they would barely beat a reserves teams. I cant see when they are going to even get competitive let alone make the finals. Very sad

Youd expect a reserve grade quality side would at least have them saving millions each year on salaries .. so they can address the financial mess they are in

There is no even playing field in your sport .
It is rigged to get a desired result .

Brisbane, like Sydney are outside AFLs heartland. Therefore a higher proportion of the payers they recruit are from interstate and they are disadvantaged when a proportion of those players want to return to their home state and play for a local. Brisbane lost a number of their first round draft picks to Melbourne clubs, most notibly Nathan Buckley. I have no issue with them receiving an advantage in an attempt to even out the lists.

This COLA wasnt a reason they won 3 flags. They won because they were loaded with good players after the merger of the Bears and Lions

If there is no level playing field ,in a comp,& the powers that be make sure that some teams do well ,then it is rigged .

Because when some teams get extra then it becomes an uneven playing field .
If it happened in the NRL there would be a riot .

their actions didnt ensure Brisbane did well, how the hell could they have? Adding 10% onto the salary cap doesnt make a champion team. To suggest so is complete rubbish

Brisbane benefited from their merger with the Lions. Up until that point they were a shambles despite salary cap concessions. The Swans were in Sydney for 25 years before winning a GF. You forgotten all this?

You do realise the storm have been far more successful than either of them, all bankrolled by the league owners at the time?
