I just think Cheerleaders add to the atmosphere of games. Work really well in NFL and NRL.

Though the pride, foundation club and heart of league south Sydney removed cheerleaders for a drumming band.

I been to loads of NRL games and when the cheerleaders are close, the drunken league supporters just stare at them then actual game.

Besides the reason the NRL copied the NFL is same reason the NFL is using them, to get blokes to their games. AFL however doesn't need whores to attract a crowd, the game itself does it for them.
