Yeah, but RL is also liked in NZ, AFL isn't on the radar and I have yet to see netball outrate the NRL in NZ and I know quite a lot of trolls of kiwi heritage (the union types) who would love nothing more than to rub the NRL's nose in it, yet they haven't. If you have figures showing netball out rating the NRL on Sky, I'd like to see it. Maybe a Grand final could be up there, be nothing wrong with that yet I am yet to see it happen.

You are right in the local side tho, the warriors rate well, not sure about the others, depends on form as some of the other clubs are quite popular over there, stems back from the winfield cup days before the warriors came along.

Still, netball is bigger out here and over there on TV than the Sokka, crowds are getting pretty neck and neck too now.

Is funny how AFL make out they are not trying hard to get a following like Rugby League has in NZ.

Yet AFL has their own academy there, started up Kiwi Kick. Has expedition matches there and trying to get AFL shown more on New Zealand television.

Yet still the Kiwis prefer their Rugby Codes and see AFL as a novelty sport.
AFL to kiwis would be what American fooball is to Victorians.

I am certain netball is probably bigger than AFL there and the A league too.

New Zealand is a decent sized market too. A population of about 4.5 million potential people for a code.

But Melbourne actually has a Rugby League team which has won premierships and has a fan base. AFL has none of that in NZ. No team in a country with a population of 4.5 million.
