originally aami park was only supposed to be 21k because those were the restrictions enforced by etihad

melbourne victory lobbied against it and got the government to make it 31k

the AFL take ownership of the etihad in 2020(i think) and by which the capacity restriction will be abolished and aami can be expanded again(i think)

technically speaking, the roof on aami park allows it to be expanded to 41k. the victory still have a binding contract with eithad so they will still play games there for the meanwhile but i think as soon as that finishes they'll be lobbying for aami park to be expanded again. and to be honest, melbourne heart, storm and the rebels should support them on that front

i read in a article a while ago, the original capacity was going to be around that 20k but yes the the Victory only signed a contract to play there is the capacity was upped 31k.

the interesting part, in the total design of the place the, footings & structure under the stadium was over designed to hold 50k, not just built strong enough to hold the 31k.
so by them doing that they obviously do have plans to have the capacity upgraded in the future. But there is stuff all chance before 2025 to when the AFL takes control of Etihad, as there are contracts in place that it cannot be done so

or it could be that none of us want to be associated with a meaningless sport that only has 104,000 participants in Australia, less than Ballet. Rugby League meaningless, unless it is talking about sick acts, such as jobbies from a dog, assaults against women, public toilet acts.
