500 thousand on a Saturday arvo, yeah that's shocking lol 40,000 membership, highest sponsorship in Australia, the Nrl would feltch the devil for those kind of numbers.I think AFL will never be the dominant in Sydney but make no mistake it dwarves the Nrl in Melbourne.Your reliance on captive audience Tv numbers is farcical but hey its all you have

Re: Souths have the Biggest Bandwagon
Haha the NRL's big games hold more interest in the AFL states than the big AFL games in the RL states, deal with these facts.
For crying out loud, the AFL grand final had a Sydney team in the match yet the Grand Final ratings in Sydney were around the same they were in Melbourne for the RL grand final even though there was no Victorian or Melbourne club involved.

Re: Souths have the Biggest Bandwagon
I reckon if the Sharkies made the GF against an interstate/international team or one that was hated we'd see a band wagon and a half rock up to see if they could finally get off the mark.

Re: Souths have the Biggest Bandwagon
Shoulda seen belmore on the weekend folks. They had a huge bandwagon. All right into it too. I saw a ute with all blue and white all over it and two live bulldogs in the back
And it's great the bandwagon actually knows the rules and players in the sport. Unfortunately the entire swans bandwagon know jack diddly about marngrook

Re: Souths have the Biggest Bandwagon
And so many AFL fans said rugby league would die off with a second AFL team in Sydney lol.. Yep that seems to have happened with the record ANZ stadium crowd at the Grand Final.ParraEelsNRL wrote:Haha the NRL's big games hold more interest in the AFL states than the big AFL games in the RL states, deal with these facts.

Re: Souths have the Biggest Bandwagon
its quite bad, given it's been on a consisent downward spiral since 2005. What's that, 4 consecutive drops in Swans GF ratings? next time around theyll probably be closer to 400kHoppasfinger wrote:500 thousand on a Saturday arvo, yeah that's shocking lol 40,000 membership, highest sponsorship in Australia, the Nrl would feltch the devil for those kind of numbers.I think AFL will never be the dominant in Sydney but make no mistake it dwarves the Nrl in Melbourne.Your reliance on captive audience Tv numbers is farcical but hey its all you have

Re: Souths have the Biggest Bandwagon
Shocking stat ther phy. Really quite shocking. I knew the sydney crowds have been consistently losing interest in the swans but I thought the Chardonnay sipping "comon ref" whelping bandwagon still got up for it. Spose not tho...spose not no more...
