the opening game was great 166k on sbs, 115k on fox, a little under 300k in total so they definitely were over 200k
http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/ ... ings-sbs-2
our grand final was also a big ratings hit
Sun TV #ALeague #SBS2 *UPDATED* Grand Final metro+regional numbers 358k (247k metro + 111k regional)
Sun STV #ALeague Grand Final #FoxSports 291k Post-game (extra time) 369k
all incredible increases, up almost 200-300% from previous years :D

The next few yrs..
Bhaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
we have been hearing that for the last 15 & Sokka is still a long long way behind the 2 winter codes.
BBL flogged it last year .
Its only rival when it moved to Summer to avoid being demolished by footy codes in Winter & it still got smashed.

well in the last 15 years soccer has gone from
poor international team, bankrupt semi-pro league in 2000
OK international team, no domestic league in 2004
good international team, new domestic pro league in 2006
great international team, expanded domestic pro league in 2010
hosting the asian cup, further expansion of the domestic pro league, record new tv deal in 2014
the only way is up :D
could care less how we stack up against any other code in this country. soccer isn't going to be #1 in any market that the AFL occupies and that's just a fact, something you nuffies need to get used to. perhaps if you lowered your expectations you wouldn't be so angry all the time...could save a few brain cells too.
But a healthy #2 is all we need which we have already achieved in melbourne and adelaide. neck and neck with AR in sydney, union in perth and we are just starting to create a foothold in QLD.
as far as the BBL is concerned. It's cool, i even went to a couple games. But at the end of the day it's a novelty competition that runs for a month and half. They played 35 games last season whereas there were 135 a-league matches played in comparison from october to april. A true national competition

Hahahaha yeah we are worried about the sokka moving from sex before sokka 2 or sex before sokka 1or is it sokka before sex 1 or 2?
Im not sure, some of those sokka boys rolling around on the ground should be put on after some of their more risque movies, my goodness the poor dears cuddle and fall around ever so effeminately.

well that actually depends on how you spin it
which national team is more popular in this country? the socceroos or the kangaroos? that's an easy one
crowds have the a-league only 2-3k off the NRL avg with certain clubs like the victory and sfc having attendances far superior to many nrl clubs
the avg membership of an a-league club for last season was 9,452, the nrl's for this season albeit not updated since the end of june was at 15,515
tv ratings and the tv deals differ and are one sided, but everything else not so much
for a league where it's fans claim to be #1....looks like your lot isn't doing a very good job!

Well we didn't move to Summer to avoid going up against another sport.
Sadly for dramaball it gets smashed by its only competitor.
BBL ..LOL.
Pity you girly boys cant move to a season where no other sport is played..
