Is that like how the Titans sold out their venue on Monday night with 6400?? Or the Roosters did on Saturday?? That's just super!

REGGIE Bush has a Los Angeles pad on the market for $6 million.

He has a Super Bowl ring. Won, then forfeited, a Heisman trophy. Even went out with Kim Kardashian.

In short, it takes more than a little to shock him.

“But this guy — wow,’’ the NFL running back exclaims now, watching as a highlights reel of Jarryd Hayne plays out on a laptop.

“He actually looks like an NFL running back. Looks like he could come play with us tomorrow.

“Although, wait, what’s that there … did he just throw the ball over a tackler’s head? Is that even legal?’’

And so you press pause, then rewind.

Explaining to one of the most gifted athletes in American football how — in that swirl of action he mistook for a throw — the guy wearing Parramatta’s No.1 jersey actually dropped the ball onto his foot, chipped over the defender, regathered with one hand and then scored our equivalent of a touchdown.

“Wow,’’ the Detroit Lion continues as the play unfolds again in slow motion. “That’s one sweet move.”

Ironically, the 29-year-old American football star — currently in Sydney on a whirlwind promotional tour — is one of the very running backs who, for years, Hayne has studied in a bid to improve his own attacking game.

“Really? That’s humbling,’’ Bush continues, keeping both eyes on the highlights reel. “I can’t wait to see him play.

“He’s fast, strong and … wow! Look at that hit. That’s an NFL football hit. I like this guy.”

Currently preparing for his ninth season of NFL — and second with the Detroit Lions — Bush has been handpicked by the organisation to travel Down Under and spruik new broadcasting deals with both Channel Seven and ESPN.

Former Maroon Gorden Tallis assesses Queensland's chance of keeping their State of Origin streak alive with victory in game two, despite Mal Meninga's side having plenty of key players under injury clouds.
As part of the agreement, both stations will show 2014 games live, while ESPN is also introducing an NFL RedZone — which alternates between the best action of all Sunday afternoon games, going live whenever a team goes inside the 20-yard line.

Bush, for his part, hopes to be in said vision plenty.

Once rated the most exciting prospect in college football the Lions veteran is now in arguably his greatest running form since turning professional.

Despite being surrounded by impossible hype his entire career (Adidas filmed a commercial around he and David Beckham in only his second season) the noted gym junkie has regularly produced and better, survived.

Arriving in Sydney with just two days till Origin II League correspondent Steve Hart says the mood around the Blues' camp is one of excitement
Covering 40 yards in 4.3 seconds, and able to squat 210kg in repetitions of five, the Detroit speedster also boasts the type of lateral movement that once saw team-mates dubbing him ‘Baby Matrix’.

“For me it’s all about speed, agility, elusiveness – exactly the same as Jarryd,’’ he says. “While I don’t really know anything about this Origin thing I am really looking forward to it.

“Especially now. Jarryd’s definitely going to be in this game Wednesday night, right?’’

So what is the point here Phy??? Jarryd could play NFL??? So what - doesn't at the moment he also went on to say yesterday on SEN that he admires the skill and athleticism of AFL players and has the utmost respect for what they do without pads - so again what's ur point - maybe you translates the article from English to Japanese to English again and in the process the point got lost in translation????

typical that an uneducated illiterate dribbler would miss the point

that being our code produces the finest athletes in Australian sport
unlike the weedy unco sheilas in singlets your code produces who are only good enough to kick the ball in NFL .... our players would actually be able to take the field & play the game

Rexonas greatest athlete of course settled this ages ago
exposing the fumbles & feebles as probably the least athletic sport in the nation

weak
slow
unco
lacking skills

this is the Victardian game
Hey, Dave, while you clean up your drool, take note of the fact that one of OUR guys as a kicker nailed an opposition running back coming his way. Kicker's don't do that!

Back to the meds with you.....

Whcih part? That the AFL did Origin first? Documented History. First code to a billion dollar tv rights deal? Documented history. Which part am i mistaken about?
That the AFL did Origin first?
&
we have taken it to a whole new level
its ours now .... deal with it

First code to a billion dollar tv rights deal?

& will sail past your bumbling code in 2018 like its standing still

So where is the crowds, membership, sponsorship and revenue coming from in 4 years RD - oh that's right you never have a little thing called evidence to support what you say just blind faith - well the NRL has only just caught up to where the AFL was in 1994 (in relation to memberships). Only just caught up to crowds (since the 60's) and revenue well there's still 130 mil to go there, participation well less than 10,000 in Vic, SA, WA and NT - NSW alone 28,000 - so 4 years eh - good luck!

I mean if we're going to be technical and insulting for people being wrong.

Melbourne didnt fill the MRS even though they came close - 28,716 isnt quite the 30,050 they've listed as capacity.
Paramatta Stadium capacity is listed as 21,487 - closest theyve got this year is 18,631 - unless you mean the 50k they got at ANZ Stadium with its 80k capacity.
Which ANZAC game? Broncos probably didnt fill Suncorp at 44,122 - its capacity is listed at 52,500. Allianz is listed at 45,800 - but the hosted game only pulled 38,784. The Storm game is the same one discussed above.
there were no more tickets available for the parra game (they put up the sold out sign outside) and same for melbourne i believe. you're probably right about Allianz though

All of it that I highlighted.

You know the bit, where the AFL leads and RL follows?

I reckon your code has done plenty more after RL got there first.

Should be a list here where I showed up some other AFL fan that said the same thing a while back.

Sunday football
Televised games
Televised live GF's on multiple stations
ANZAC day games

The list goes on and on when you really think about it.

kinda shows the smalltime mentality of a lot of australians who seem to get a kick out of showing a youtube video to a very mediocre nfl player wanting to get an opinion from him

no nrl players have the ability to play american football in the nrl, if they did they would be over there doing it. apart from kickers, essentially the nrl is full of second rate athletes especially when compared to a league with that kind of pool of talent

but im sure someone out there will try and convince you that the SOO game last night was an elite showcase of world class skill, pity i fell asleep after 15 or so minutes but its ok i woke up in time for the socceroos match against the netherlands later on

A number of AFL players have successfully played NFL and I imagine an NRL player might play NFL just as a NFL player might play NRL or AFL but they are different games aerobically.
One thing for sure is that soccer players wont come into any equation.

you can imagine that happening, but the reality is that it hasn't and probably won't ever happen

your second point is also correct as in soccer the emphasis is on skill and not athleticism

not to mention soccer players - the elite ones especially - make plenty of money, so there isn't any need or desire to switch sports whereas NRL and AFL players are making pocket change in comparison

The soccer players that have made it overseas have no need to swtich codes, but there are many instances of soccer players playing Australian Football maybe even NRL.

oh for sure, unlike a lot of countries, australians have a lot of options here, plenty of sports to play as a kid. adam goodes played soccer in his youth, so did darius boyd and billy slater. if later in life they realize they start to enjoy or figure out that they can be really successful at another sport, then go for it

but you will never find a professional soccer player, even the ones based in australia, in this era ever changing codes and it all comes down to different skill sets and the fact that soccer has a professional league of its own now in this country
