Two very funny bits in that article.

Ben Davies, St Kilda's general manager of commercial projects, said AFL policy prevented him from revealing how ticket sales were tracking.

So in other words..its embarrassing & we wont say..
I think(will check) that last yr they were spruiking how well ticket sales were going..


Davies conceded that the timing of the game was not ideal, during school holidays, with many Wellingtonians out of town.

I think the article highlights a few things that actually go against the claim. 1. If they get around 20000 and only about 1000 are travellers from Australia then that's a decent turn out of locals to the game. Two, they actually have a school based programme? That's amazing that there is such a programme that is viable for what ever reason. Thirdly, I think the giving away of tickets in trying to establish a game is a great initiative. Why wouldn't you do it I reckon.

All I could see was an advertisement for women players as well as asking for more players for some sort of 9 a side thing they have.
