If you were not aware of the Swans and their issues in the early 1990's then I can not help you with your ignorance.

It would help if you came into the new millenium.

oh course they did. the Melbourne storm did the same for years as well, through News ltd as well as having people decked out in storm merchandise handing out multiple tickets to people going to AFL games to the MCG, but with out proof there is no point in even trying to convince people your claim is true

It would help if you took note of history. It teaches much.

You have not asked a question on this thread. I would prefer it if you stayed on topic if you wouldn't mind, if you want my respect.

Please stay on topic guys. This thread is about free tickets at Titans game. The issue of the NZ AFL team now has it's own thread in the international sub forum.

WHEN the gates swing open for the first Gold Coast home game of the season tomorrow, the Titans will almost immediately start counting their losses.
Not on the scoreboard, but in the bank balance.
This is the reality for many NRL clubs where it doesn’t matter how much you fill a stadium, you’re only putting money in someone else’s pocket.
For the Titans, Broncos and Cowboys the pockets that fill the most are usually Stadiums Queensland, Ticketek and venue caterers.
For every ticket issued to a fan or club member, most never reaches the football club because of enormous overheads such as the “free train travel” which is a cost clubs must pay regardless of how many people board a rattler.
To win back crowds the Titans have offered children free entry to every home game this season with a paying adult into the eastern grandstand.

so bumsniffers which code hands out free tickets as well as giving away money for people taking out membership? as well as offering free public transport travel? to try and build up interest in its falling code...............the NRL

IMO there is nothing wrong with ticket giveaways - if your crowd is down its something you can do to get them coming again. Of more concern is when you do that and they dont show. With the Titans improvement this year it may be a good tactic - even GC if they get on a roll should do same.

The storm would be very concerned with their last game. A pretty disappointing crowd and they had their "take a mate free" offer going.
Yikes
